Twins' bats not quite enough vs. tigers

6/18/2018

The Twins finished their series vs. the Tigers on Thursday.

Series Scores
Game 1: Twins 6 Tigers 4
Everything went right this game.
Game 2: Twins 2 Tigers 5
The bats just were not great for this game.
Game 3: Twins 1 Tigers 3
Well pitched game by both teams.

AL Central Update
Coming into this series, the Twins were a half game behind the Tigers. After the first game the Twins took a half game lead over Tigers. But by the end, the Tigers had regained second place by a firm 1.5 games. Cleveland is still firmly in first.

Bullpen
Immediately following the series finale, the Twins announced 3B Miguel Sano would be designated to Single-A Fort Myers. Quite the demotion. Hopefully this gives Sano a wakeup call and comes back to the majors better then before. 1B Joe Mauer is expected to return to the lineup on Friday. OF Jake Cave has also been optioned to triple-A Rochester.

Up Next
The Twins travel to Cleveland to take on the Indians.
