Twins finish 8-game losing streak, lose series with Reds

The Minnesota Twins have been struggling quite a bit lately. The losing streak reached 8 games, before they won 3-1 over the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday.

No one can quite figure out the reason why the Twins have been struggling lately. Target Field is certainly not full or anywhere near it with good reason. I had said before this series began, if the Twins couldn't at least win the series at home against the worst team in the league, then they are in serious trouble. But they have another chance to right the ship in the home series against Toronto this week.

So far the Blue Jays have been taking advantage of the Twins constant struggle. They are currently up in the series 1-0.

In other news, the rest of the division is tanking hard. While the Twins were on their 8-game losing streak, they only dropped half a game below Detroit, while Chicago is 2.5 games behind and Kansas City is 4 games behind.

Playoff Picture
As it stands right now the Twins are far from the playoffs. Cleveland is just barely hanging on, overall most of the American League is having a slow start to the year.
