Twins lose series to Royals, drop to 3rd in AL Central

I am starting to think last year was a fluke season. Minnesota drops 6 of their last 7 games and drop to 3rd place in the division as a result. Here is a series summary of scores:

Game 1: Final: Twins 8 Royals 5
The obvious only good game the Twins played in this series.

Game 2: Final/14: Twins 1 Royals 2
Adds to the most walk-off losses in the Majors with 8 total walk-off losses to the Twins, 4 in extra innings.

Game 3: Final: Twins 8 Royals 11
This one started off with the Royals earning 9 runs off of Fernando Romero. Yeah thats right, Romero had his worst game yet. He is now 2-2 on the season, he only pitched 1.2 innings.

There was an article released this week by ESPN about how the AL Central is historically one of the worst divisions in Major League history. They aren't wrong. Cleveland has remained around .500 for most of the season thus far. Minnesota is struggling to keep 2nd and is currently at 3rd, with Detroit having the advantage over the Twins by a game. Kansas City and Chicago are awful, period.

I can barely watch the Twins anymore, they just sicken me every time I watch. They remind me of my little league team that won 3 games in an 8 game season. That is how bad this team is. If we were in any other division we would be bottom dwellers. But still the Twins won't squeeze a Wild Card berth unless Buxton, Sano, Dozier, and Mauer hit well again.
Speaking of Mauer, his contract is up after this season and should be gone. All he is all season is either hurt or a non-factor.

Bullpen
OF Byron Buxton was put back on the Disabled List on Wednesday because of a fractured toe. Rumor is the Twins made him play with it for 16 games and decided enough was enough.
1B Joe Mauer is still on the DL.
RHP Ervin Santana had trouble in his Minor League game the other day with swelling and will be re-examined.

AL Central Update
Like I said above, the Twins currently sit at 3rd place in the division. They are a game behind Detroit, and 5 and a half games behind Cleveland as the Indians have won 3 of their last 4 games and Detroit has as well.

Up Next
Speaking of the Indians, the Twins begin a home, 4-game series versus Cleveland on Thursday, May 31st. This begins an 11-game home stand for the Twins.
