Bye Week Update

11/25/2019

Even though the Vikings do not have a game this week I still decided to post an update, especially since they still don't play for another whole week. (Sad I know).

Vikings Info
Not much has come out of the Vikings organization in the last week. Mostly quiet with some press appearances for players here and there. Diggs appeared on Good Morning Football to brag about how great Cousins has played this season, going so far as to name him an MVP candidate! Cousins appeared on KFAN's podcast to read hilarious 1st half vs 2nd half tweets from the comeback win vs Denver last weekend. Not much else going on. The general consensus with Adam Thielen is that they are hoping he is ready for the game in Seattle so that he can be with the team for the playoff push.

NFC North Update
I will not be doing playoff scenarios this week as a segment but I will cover them briefly here. So Green Bay and Detroit both lost this week. While the Lions do not matter to the Vikings, the Green Bay loss is huge for the purple and gold! This means that they have the chance to gain a game on the Pack when they meet in Week 16 at US Bank Stadium. It also means that as long as the Vikings keep doing what they are doing, the Packers cannot slip up or Minnesota will take the division lead. Chicago did win a game which brings them a win down from .500 but not any closer to a playoff berth. Still seems that the Vikings and Packers will both be in the playoffs but where each will be placed is yet to come. The MNF game vs the Seahawks is huge for playoff seeding as they currently hold the 5th seed and 1st wildcard slot, the Vikings could move in to that spot if they beat Seattle. Now Green Bay did move down under New Orleans in the 3rd seed, so if the Vikings were to take their place that is where they would be.

Up Next
The Vikings will now finish their bye week as Week 12 draws to a close and Week 13 begins. Minnesota plays in Seattle against the Seahawks on Monday Night Football on Monday, December 2nd. Kickoff is at 7:20 PM CT.
