Final Vikings Preseason Recap

9/10/2020

Hello Vikings fans!

Its been quite a long offseason for football fans! Its an exciting time though, as the Texans and Chiefs kick off the season tonight on Thursday Night Football, and the Vikings open up their season on Sunday at 12 PM against the rival Packers.

The Vikings have released an initial depth chart and roster for the season. Items to note as we head into Week 1 are below.
Offense
The Vikings decided to go with 2 quarterbacks to start the season, they were able to sign 2020 7th round pick QB Nate Stanley to the practice squad.
The only other note I have is that 2020 1st round pick WR Justin Jefferson is not on the starting roster for Week 1. Bisi Johnson will be opposite Adam Thielen on Sunday, and Justin Jefferson will be optional WR3.
Defense
DE Danielle Hunter was placed on IR on Wednesday, thus taking him out of the next 3 games. Backup Ifaedi Odenigbo will take his place presumably for those 3 games.
The rookie CB's Jeff Gladney and Cameron Dantzler did make the final roster and are the backups to starting CB's Mike Hughes and Holton Hill.
Special Teams
Dan Bailey is back to kick for the Vikings as well as Britton Colquitt on the punting unit. This year the return team will feature rookie WR KJ Osborn on kicking and punt returns.

Other then that not much else is new for the Vikings!
Here we go with Week 1 at home vs the Packers!
