Game Summary:
The Vikings didn't seem like they would repeat their frequent heartbreak after the first quarter. The Vikes jumped out to a 14-3 lead after the first quarter with a Cousins to Jefferson TD and Kirk leapt over the pile for the other.
In the 2nd quarter the Ravens were able to keep up as the Vikings only managed a 36 yard field goal after a Lamar Jackson pick.
In the 3rd quarter the Vikings shit the bed. The Ravens drove down the field several times, and scored multiple touchdowns. In the 4th quarter the Ravens tied the game and eventually took the lead with around 2:14 to go. Kirk got the ball and drove it down for a Vikings score with 1:02 left in the game. The defense was able to stop the Ravens attack and forced overtime.
In OT the Ravens got the ball first but Lamar Jackson was picked off just as they passed midfield. However the Vikings couldn't do anything with the ball and punted back to the Ravens. Minnesota ran a failed run up the middle, a 2 yard screen to Cook and a weird go route during the drive. Baltimore proceeds to drive down the field and kick the game winning field goal.

Overall the Vikings played a decent game. They won the turnover battle, which cannot be said for most games. They even got a huge kick return TD after halftime, but still this wasn't enough to get out of their own way. The defense will still allow points when on the field for most of the second half. The offense sometimes comes through in big moments. But then when they have to come through again they falter. What doesn't help this is the terrible play calling. The offense was cooking for most of the game because the play calling was different. But, apparently this reverts itself in overtime. The only drive of overtime was the worst play calls all day. It didn't even look like they wanted to win the game. Zimmer probably wanted to give the ball back to the Ravens because he trusted the defense more then the offense. This team won't go anywhere until Zimmer and his staff is fired. The Vikings have invented every scenario in the book to lose a game. Its time for a change.

Injury Report
FS Harrison Smith was absent from today's game after being put on the Covid list this morning.
The Vikings defense played today's game without Michael Pierce, Danielle Hunter, Patrick Peterson, and Harrison Smith.
CB Bashaud Breeland exited the game in the 1st quarter after an apparent groin injury while also getting cleated on the same play.

Up Next
The Vikings continue their road trip when they visit Sofi Stadium for the first time next Sunday as they visit the Chargers. Kickoff is at 3:05 PM CT.
