Game Summary:
The Vikings absolutely dominated this game! While the offense may have been sputtering in the first half it was nice to see the defense show up for once. Neither team converted a third down in the first half for the first time since the end of the 2014 season. By the end of the game each team had converted 2 third downs apiece. It is abysmal for the Vikings and knocks their 3rd down offensive efficiency down towards the bottom of the league. But the defense remains stout as they only allowed 2 third downs. They are starting to return to their NFC Championship form. But more setbacks come every week as more get injured. To recap who is injured on the defense: Everson Griffen, Linval Joseph did not play yesterday, Trae Waynes just got back, Anthony Barr left yesterday's game, Xavier Rhodes has an ankle injury, and rookie corner Mike Hughes has a torn ACL.

NFC North Update:
Since Chicago lost this weekend at home to the Patriots and the Vikings won, Minnesota leap frogs Green Bay to the top of the NFC North with a half game lead. Chicago now falls to the bottom behind Detroit who won yesterday as well.

Injury Report:
Fortunately Xavier Rhodes' injury is only a minor ankle injury, nothing big. He may play on Sunday night vs. Saints. Still no timetable on Everson Griffen. Linval Joseph should return on Sunday as his absence was merely precautionary. Dalvin Cook is still day to day dealing with a hamstring injury. He should, in theory, play on Sunday but who knows at this point.

Up Next:
The Vikings now come home for two weeks in a row. They start on Sunday night when they play the Saints on Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is at 7:20 PM CT.

SKOL Vikings!
