Vikings Cut 5th-rounder K Daniel Carlson, sign K Dan Bailey

Quick update:

Today the Minnesota Vikings cut their rookie (5th round) kicker Daniel Carlson. This comes after Carlson missed all three field goals in their 29-29 tie at Green Bay yesterday, including a potential game-winning field goal as time expired in overtime. In his very young career Carlson is 1/4 in field goals and 6/6 in extra points. Hopefully he can turn this around somewhere, but unfortunately I think this is it for the kid out of Auburn. I can somewhat feel for him, he is just out of college and already lost his rhythm. Good luck to him wherever he goes.

The Vikings then signed former Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey. In his long career he has made 186 of 211 attempted field goals and made 276 of 278 attempted extra points. Hopefully he can pick up our kicking game and try to round out that point of the team.
