Game Summary:
Minnesota had a rough game. Just a couple of days ago, Kirk Cousins tested positive for Covid and was forced to miss the game on SNF. Sean Mannion was named the starter for Sunday's abysmal showing.
The Vikings came out of the tunnel with confidence on defense and skittish attitude on offense. Going into halftime the offense had down virtually nothing and the defense had managed to only allow 3 points in the 1st quarter but 17 in the 2nd leading to a 20-3 deficit.
Minnesota wasn't keen on halftime adjustments and the blowout got worse. In the second half the Vikings allowed 17 points and only scored 7. Now the scoring drive will be a highlight of the NFL season with a spectacular improv play from center Garrett Bradbury after Tyler Conklin fumbled. Bradbury carried the ball 21 yards before being brought down that setup a Mannion to Osborn score that would be the only time the Vikings saw the endzone. Not long after that in the 4th quarter, the Vikings put Kellen Mond behind center having seen enough from Mannion.
Final score was a 37-10 thrashing.

Playoff Update
The Vikings are virtually eliminated from the playoffs. They needed to win this game to stay alive. When they lost to the Rams last week, they lost their ability to control their own destiny. The tough part is no matter what you say about Kirk missing the game, is it shouldn't have come down to this week given every game besides 2 were decided by 7 points or less. If they win any 2 of those, this week's game would not have mattered.

Up Next
Now the Vikings return home for the season finale against the Bears. Kickoff is at 12 PM CT.
