Game Summary:
Minnesota started out the game completely flat on offense and defense and was down 7-0 at the end of the 1st quarter. Not long in the second quarter they were down 14-0. However, the Vikings offense found their footing and were able to score on a touchdown to Adam Thielen and another one to Dalvin Cook. After half the team just fell apart and gave up 10 points to Detroit. Heading into the 4th quarter the team was down by 10. To make it even worse, Dalvin Cook fumbled on a play in the early part of the 4th quarter and injured his shoulder. Fortunately, Detroit was unable to capitalize on the turnover and was forced to punt. Minnesota drove down and scored to make it a one score game. Detroit on their next possession drove down to Minnesota territory but missed a 51 yard field goal and gave the Vikings the ball back. The Vikings proceeded to use an under 5 minute drive and scored on a run from Alexander Mattison. This gave Minnesota the lead with 55 seconds to go. Detroit got the ball back but was unable to get past the Vikings 40 yard line and threw a pick with 9 seconds remaining. Minnesota somehow won after all the missed opportunities in the game. They were terrible on 3rd down today, turned the ball over twice and missed 2 field goals (both from 56 yards).

Injury Report
S Harrison Smith did not play today and was out with a concussion.
CB Andrew Booth Jr also did not play today and was out with a hamstring injury.
RB Dalvin Cook left today's game with a shoulder injury in the 4th quarter. He was still standing on the sideline but never re-entered the game.
EDGE Za'Darius Smith briefly left the game after getting rolled up during a play in the 4th quarter, but returned shortly after.

Up Next
Now the Vikings will play their weirdest week of the season, when they travel to London for a neutral site matchup with the New Orleans Saints. Kickoff is at 8:30 AM CT next Sunday, October 3rd on NFL Network.
