Game Summary:
The Vikings didn't start great, only managing a 51 yard field goal and New York eventually tied it. In the second quarter, Minnesota nearly blew the doors off the game. They scored two touchdowns and kicked another field goal. The Jets managed a 60 yard field goal before halftime to decrease the deficit to 20-6. New York continued to inch closer in the second half, getting two field goals in the 3rd quarter, and then another in the 4th quarter. Before the Vikings scored another touchdown to Jefferson. The Jets did score again and nearly scored the game winning touchdown in the closing seconds before throwing a pick on 4th down at the Vikings 20.
Minnesota got very lucky their bad game didn't doom them. The Vikings offense had good drives, but they had a hard time with it in the second half. Cousins looked out of sorts until the last touchdown drive. Both quarterbacks got drilled today by the defensive lines.

NFC North/Playoff Update
With Minnesota's win today, it wins them at least a share of the NFC North title. Since Detroit won, it means they can't clinch a playoff berth this weekend. However, now the scenarios change in that, Minnesota can clinch now with a win. Green Bay won this weekend over Chicago, who is already eliminated from at least NFC North contention is now eliminated from playoff contention. The Packers are mathematically still alive in the playoff race, but with a serious up hill battle in front of them. Minnesota still sits behind Philadelphia in the playoffs, the Eagles have the 1 seed currently and the Vikings own the 2 seed. The closest team behind them currently is the San Francisco 49ers at 7-4. Tampa Bay currently holds the NFC South lead for the 4th seed in the playoffs. The wildcards are Dallas (8-3), NY Giants (7-4-1), and Washington (7-5-1). Seattle, Detroit, and Atlanta are the first teams on the outside looking in.

Injury Report
The Vikings got rookie CB Akalyeb Evans back for today's game, and might have lost him again to yet another concussion in the 4th quarter.
Minnesota hopes to get CB Cam Dantzler back next weekend.

Up Next
Now Minnesota hits the road to go play NFC North foe, the Detroit Lions. Kickoff is at 12 PM CT next Sunday.
