Game Summary:
This game overall was very lacking of offense. It started with both teams going 3 and out to start. There was no scoring until the second quarter when Miami was finally able to kick a field goal. Now, what did happen in the first quarter is Dolphins rookie QB Skylar Thompson left the game with a hand injury and did not return. So recently cleared QB Teddy Bridgewater had to play. For those not familiar, Minnesota drafted Bridgewater in 2014 and started for the Vikings for 2 and a half seasons before he blew his knee in a non-contact practice during the 2016 preseason. He had his surgery while under contract in Minnesota and even returned in a blowout win over the Bengals in the 2017 season for the remainder of the 4th quarter. Unfortunately he threw an interception in that game and was not re-signed in the following offseason.
After the Dolphins scored in the 2nd quarter, the Vikings answered on the next drive and now led the game 7-3. Both teams traded punts until the Vikings were able to drive down towards the end of the 1st half and kicked a 34 yard field goal. This would be the only field goal Minnesota would attempt.
In the 2nd half, both teams somehow got worse. Neither team scored in the 3rd quarter, but Minnesota was able to drive down towards the end of the quarter and not long into the 4th quarter scored their second touchdown off a 2 yard pass from Cousins to Thielen. Then not long after that, Miami scored as well on touchdown pass from Bridgewater. Not much happened until Teddy threw an interception to give the Vikings great field position. Dalvin Cook scored on a 53 yard run two plays later to give the Vikings a two score lead with the two point attempt. Miami did manage to score with just over a minute remaining, but Minnesota recovered the onside attempt and ended the game.

NFC North Update
Minnesota is now 5-1 and 3-0 in the division. Green Bay lost today to fall to 3-3. Chicago lost on Thursday to fall to 2-4. Detroit was on bye this week.

Up Next
Now the Vikings will head on to their bye week. Their next game will be in two weeks on Sunday, October 30th in Week 8 at home against the Arizona Cardinals. Kickoff will be at 12 PM CT.
