Summary:
Overall this wasn't a terrible game for the Vikings. The first team offense did score a touchdown, but it was a rushing touchdown not a passing one. Captain Kirk did play well, he even connected with Diggs several times for great gains. While he isn't connecting with Thielen the way I would like, I hope it develops before week 1. He actually made me kind of nervous last night because he wasn't as accurate as an $84 million QB should be.
Now let's talk about the real shiny part of this game. Kyle Sloter was absolutely spectacular! Him and Chad Beebe really showed off last night. This includes Chad Beebe's clutch 4th and 15 touchdown in the 4th quarter! Then after that, Jake Wienieke made a clutch reach over the goal-line to successfully complete the game-winning 2PT conversion! Only other thing to note is that rookie kicker Daniel Carlson was 0 for 2 on field goals last night. I am hoping this is just him adjusting to the role of starting kicker.

Injury Report
RB Dalvin Cook did play last night although he was pulled after 2 carries in 4 plays. Not what I would have liked to see but it is what it is. Rookie corner Mike Hughes did not play on Friday night as a precaution as to not aggravate or re-injure him. Others did not play as well but there are too many to list.

Up Next
The Vikings play their last preseason game this Thursday, August 30th. They will play at Nissan Stadium and play the Titans. Kickoff is at 7 PM CDT.

SKOL Vikings!
