2024-25 Minnesota Wild Mid-Season Update

I figured it has been long enough since I last wrote an update about the Wild.
They have been quite busy so far this season. Currently they sit at 25-11-4 and hold the 2nd spot in the Central.
The Wild have done this despite several injuries to multiple players. Star forward Kirill Kaprizov is currently dealing with an injury that has held him out for several games at this point. From the sounds of it, I wouldn't expect him out too much longer. Other than that, the Wild dealt with an injury to Filip Gustavsson earlier this season, and many are speculating he isn't playing at 100%. Center Joel Eriksson Ek has also been dealing with an injury this season that has kept him out for nearly half the games played so far. Captain defenseman Jared Spurgeon also just recently suffered an injury that has kept him out for a few games. Defenseman Jake Middleton has also been dealing with an injury that has kept him out of action recently.
So the story for the rest of this season is mostly going to rely on how the Wild can continue to make headway without three of their best players, including their franchise player in Kaprizov. Minnesota's scheduling doesn't look too grueling from what I have seen, or at least any more difficult than anyone else right now. Ideally, the Wild can hopefully get Middleton and Kaprizov back soon and that would most definitely stem any bleeding. However, they have been dealing alright despite these injuries.
As it sits right now, the Wild are third in the Western Conference standings with Winnipeg taking the Central division lead and the 2nd spot as well. Vegas currently leads the Pacific and the Western Conference. Of course, hot behind them are the Avs, Kings, and Oilers. The Stars have also been quite good for stretches of the season so far.

Minnesota's next five opponents include St. Louis, Colorado, San Jose, Vegas, and Edmonton. Should properly show how good the Wild are right now. Looking forward to it!

Go Wild!!
