Minnesota Wild fire head coach Bruce Boudreau

Minnesota Wild GM Bill Guerin announced today that the club has fired 4 year head coach Bruce Boudreau.

I see this more as a surprise then expected, given the Wild's obvious intention to try and rebuild the team yet again. I would have expected they would have either fired Boudreau last summer or kept him for a year or two to keep continuity. But apparently there must have been a bad enough reason to let Boudreau go.

Bruce Boudreau was hired in 2016 after the firing of then 5-year head coach Mike Yeo. Boudreau finishes his tenure with the Wild at a record of 158-110-35 over 3 seasons.

Now we await Guerin's decision on who the sixth head coach of the Minnesota Wild will be.

The Wild will play for the first time since Boudreau's firing tomorrow, Saturday, February 15th at the Xcel Energy Center against the San Jose Sharks. The puck drops at 4 PM CT.

Go Wild!
