Wild hire new GM Paul Fenton

On Wednesday, the Minnesota Wild welcomed their new General Manager Paul Fenton to the State of Hockey.
Fenton has spent the last 25 years working in the NHL. He spent 2 decades in management but never had the chance to run a team. Now he does.
There is a lot of hope around the Wild front office now that Fenton is in town. He spent the last 20 years helping shape the division rival Nashville Predators into a contender. Now he is aiming to bring Minnesota to the Stanley Cup Finals as well.
While the Wild have made the Stanley Cup playoffs for six straight seasons, tying only the Anaheim Ducks for the longest streak in the Western Conference, they have never made it past the second round. Fenton's philosophy in Minnesota, he says, isn't a total rebuild. But he said he won't shy away from any trade, big or small.
This could mean the Minnesota Wild team we see this coming year may be substantially different then the team we saw in April. Hopefully he can work the same magic here in Minnesota that he did in Nashville.
Fenton does see a familiar face in the Minnesota organization in Ryan Suter, as he was drafted by the Predators back in 2003.
Overall this seems like the smart hire, and here's to hoping he can bring the State of Hockey the Stanley Cup. Or for cripe's sake even the 3rd round would be awesome!
