2022 Minnesota Timberwolves Season Preview

The season starts tonight!!! Lets see what these 2022 Timberwolves are all about!

Offseason Recap
Lots has happened over the offseason! The biggest move was probably the Rudy Gobert trade. Minnesota acquired C Rudy Gobert from Utah in exchange for guards Patrick Beverley, Malik Beasley, and Leandro Bolmaro, F Jarred Vanderbilt, draft rights to C Walker Kessler, as well as first round draft picks in 2023, 25, 27, 29, and a pick swap in 2026.
After this, a number of different moves were set off including the following:
Signed F Kyle Anderson, Signed G Bryn Forbes, Signed G Austin Rivers, Signed F Eric Paschall to a two-way contract, extended C Karl-Anthony Towns to a multi-year $300+ million contract, resigned F Nathan Knight, signed F/C Luka Garza to a two-way contract, exercised the fourth-year options for G Anthony Edwards and F Jaden McDaniels.
That is a lot of moves, the intriguing part though, is that Anderson and Forbes came to Minnesota's front office to make a deal. This doesn't happen to the Wolves, so the league obviously knows this team is for real.

Predictions
This is a different team this year in more ways then one. While I do think the Wolves improved with these moves, they are a different team then last year. They no longer have the defensive engines that were Pat Bev and Jarred Vanderbilt. So they need to find that elsewhere. Gobert is probably the answer. But that remains to be seen. KAT is still coming back from his bad throat illness that landed him in the hospital right before training camp, so that will be an early season factor. Also, this team is still adjusting to Gobert's prescence. He is a great defender to pair alongside McDaniels and an adjusting Edwards. He will also pair alongside KAT very well on the glass.
I am predicting that the Wolves finish 56-26 and are a 4 seed in the West with that record. Division-wise I would say the Wolves finish second behind Denver.

The season begins tonight when the Wolves host the Oklahoma City Thunder at Target Center!
