All the Trade News for the Wolves, Farewells and Greetings

Well hello Wolves fans! I am very much a happy person with all this trade news!
Now I am not going to jump the gun but I think Wolves management might have actually made some good moves!

I will first address the trades and then I will move on to Farewells to players we traded away and greetings to new players!

Trades:
Tuesday, February 4th 2020:
Minnesota Trades Away: Robert Covington (HOU), Jordan Bell (HOU), Shabazz Napier (DEN), Keita Bates-Diop (DEN), Noah Vonleh (DEN)
Minnesota Receives: Evan Turner (ATL), Malik Beasley (DEN), Juan Hernangomez (DEN), Jarred Vanderbilt (DEN), Atlanta 2020 1st Round Pick (From BKN)

This was a 4 team trade that the Wolves got rid of some small assets but also a huge defensive piece in Covington.
I would grade this at a B-, the Wolves did get a 1st round pick in this.

Thursday, February 6th 2020
Minnesota Trades Away: Andrew Wiggins (GS), 2021 First-Round (Protected), 2022 Second-Round
Minnesota Receives: D'Angelo Russell (GS), Jacob Evans (GS), Omari Spellman (GS)

This is a downright awesome trade! Russell should fit well into Saunders' system and should gel with Towns very well! Looking forward to see him play! Now I was kind of curious to see if Wiggins would be able to improve play with 2 stars around him. But now he moves out to San Francisco to push a championship out there with Curry and Thompson, maybe he can learn something.

Farewells:

Robert Covington (traded to Houston)
Covington has been a very influential part of this Wolves team over the last year since they traded Butler out of Minnesota. He will definitely be missed here in Minnesota by the fans as he was a great defensive influence for Towns.
Best wishes in Houston Cov!

Keita Bates-Diop (traded to Denver)
KBD has been an interesting case for this team. He was drafted in 2018 by the Wolves and had been a fair contributor so far this season. Mainly he was another draft pick by the Wolves that didn't exactly turn out so I hope he finds success in Denver!
Good luck KBD!

I don't know much about Bell, Vonleh, and Napier so I will just say farewell and good luck to wherever you are going!

Andrew Wiggins (Traded to Golden State)
Wiggins has been part of the Wolves longer then anyone else on this current roster. He was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014 and immediately traded as part of the Kevin Love trade.
That first year he was a Wolves shooting forward and put up some serious numbers for a rookie. He played all games and ended the year with 16.9 PPG, 13.9 FGA, and .760 FTP.
From then on he was a decent contributor for the Wolves as the year following, the Wolves drafted Karl-Anthony Towns 1st overall and paired quite nicely together. They were graded as the best young duo in the NBA at the time and had a bright future in Minnesota.
Then in Summer 2017 the Timberwolves traded for SG Jimmy Butler from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Zach LaVine and Kris Dunn.
In the regular season of 2017-18 the Wolves had a huge chance of making the playoffs for the first time in over a decade. But Butler tore his meniscus 3 months before the season ended and the team nearly fell out of the playoffs as Towns and Wiggins alone were not enough to keep weight with the rest of the teams. Fortunately when Butler returned the Wolves ended up securing a playoff berth on the last day of the regular season when they beat division rival Denver Nuggets to secure the 8 seed and their first playoff berth in 14 years.
But then the following season Butler became frustrated and was traded out of Minnesota.
After that rumors started to circulate that Minnesota also wanted to move Wiggins' max contract as well. The following season in 2020 the Timberwolves traded Wiggins out of Minnesota in exchange for star PG D'Angelo Russell.

Good luck in Golden State Wigs!

Greetings
The highlight of all the trades is star point guard D'Angelo Russell! The others are mainly just cap pieces so I won't go over their careers except welcome to Minnesota!

D'Angelo Russell (Traded from Golden State)
Russell has had a recently fantastic career so far! He led Brooklyn to a playoff berth in 2019 and then was traded to the Warriors this past offseason.
His career stats are as follows!
Career: 17.3 PPG, 5.2 AST, 42 FG%, 35.7 3PT%, 76.6 FT%
2019-20 (GS): 23.6 PPG, 6.2 AST, 43.0 FG%, 37.4 3PT%, 78.8 FT%
Should be a great addition to this Wolves roster! Looking forward to great things!
Welcome to Minnesota D'Angelo Russell!

Great week so far so lets hope the Wolves can do something with this!

Go Wolves!
