BREAKING: Glen Taylor in exclusive talks to sell team to former MLB great Alex Rodriguez and Billioniare Marc Lore

Glen Taylor has finally found his successor. After 9 months of looking for a potential buyer he has locked in Yankees former great Alex Rodriguez and billionaire Marc Lore to buy the franchise.

There are mixed reactions here. Honestly I don't know completely where I fit in.

Rodriguez has not exactly had the most acceptable history of a Yankees legend. Then again it is the Yankees, so morals don't really fly inside this organization.
Many are right to be skeptical, it happens anytime there is an ownership change. On the bright side, it is no longer Glen Taylor. I am just hoping ARod isn't any worse then Glen. This could potentially open the door for Kevin Garnett to retire his number with the Timberwolves. This needs to happen and KG's only condition was not to do business with Glen Taylor and he will no longer be apart of the franchise. If KG is nice enough to ARod he may even be able to purchase a minority stake in the Wolves and help him run it.

The other side of the coin is we should be optimistic! Rodriguez is an MLB legend, and if anyone can turn the Wolves organization around he isn't that far off.

From reports around the media today, the deal is worth approximately $1.5 billion. Also it will supposedly include a condition to keep the team in Minneapolis and also includes the sale of the Minnesota Lynx. Taylor always said he was going to sell the team only with the intent of the team staying in Target Center, now how he is going to do this is yet to be seen. He has said in interviews today that he will be putting it in the agreement between the two parties on the sale of the franchises. Will this be a condition that will expire after a certain amount of years? Or will it somehow be based on stats around the team, or will it somehow be indefinite (unlikely)?

In my honest opinion I don't think the Wolves are staying here if there is a chance to leave. The only reason this team will stay for the foreseeable future is if the NBA expands to both of the sites that have a potential thirst for NBA basketball and none are open if the provision in the Wolves' sale expires. If no reasonable sites are open for a move, then the owner would be stupid to move them. But at the end of the day, crazier things have happened so we will see how everything goes.

For now, the Timberwolves should focus on winning some games. Worry about any potential relocation another time.
