Butler wants out of Minnesota

Just when you thought that the Wolves might be making a return to the playoffs for more then one year, you thought wrong. All-Star SG Jimmy Butler met with HC/GM Tom Thibodeau on Tuesday and reportedly requested a trade to either the Nets, Knicks, or Clippers.

This effectively is the end to the Jimmy Butler era in Minnesota and might be the end to the playoffs. This is the epitome of Wolves basketball. But life moves on. Now leadership must focus on signing KAT longterm. This is a disaster.

Also I am officially calling for the firing of Tom Thibodeau. I'm done with him. He couldn't keep Butler here in Minnesota longer than one year. This is pathetic. Now the Wolves no longer have the youngest team or anywhere near it, and a bunch of aging role players. If Dwane Casey was still available I would be calling for him to take the position but he has already been taken. Thibs is only trying to rebuild the Bulls on the Wolves. That helps nothing. Just gives us more baggage after his tenure is up. The Wolves currently have no replacement for Butler. What I don't get about this is that Butler wouldn't be able to meet up with Kyrie on only one of those teams. Why would he want to go to the Clippers? He would be the lead there just I as he was here. I don't get it but that's the way it is.

Last year for the Wolves, Butler played in 59 games and averaged 36.7 mins, 22.2 pts, 35.0 % on 3PT, 5.3 reb, 4.9 ast, and 2.0 blks.
