Timberwolves fall behind in Game 5, Rockets move on

At least the season didn't end 2 weeks ago......
That's the only optimistic thing I can think of at the moment.

The Timberwolves lost Game 5 in Houston last night which means that the Rockets have won the series in 5 games and will be moving on to play the winner of Jazz and Thunder.
Another game that was a tale of two halves, just less of a blowout in the second. In the first half the Wolves led plenty of times, their max lead was 10 points. But the Rockets took advantage of a 15 point 3rd quarter by the Wolves to take an insurmountable lead. That really wraps it up.
Something else to think about: Jimmy Butler didn't play the 4th quarter because of "knee soreness". I am hoping this is just a cover for "I don't want to play a humiliating 4th quarter of an elimination game".

Season Review
While the Wolves most certainly improved from last season, heralding a 16-game increase between the two seasons. But in a way the Wolves failed to hit expectations and fell to the #8 seed. Anything higher would have been considered a major success for Minnesota. But it came down to the last game in typical Minnesota fashion, and for once they succeeded. But they had to face the best team in the NBA in the Rockets and actually won a home game for the first time in over a decade.
Overall, a lot of optimism heading into the offseason. Lots of room for improvement, but hopefully the Wolves can pull a higher seed next year.

Thanks for a great season Timberwolves and fans!
