Timberwolves February/Trade Deadline Update

2/4/2020

Hello Wolves fans! I am just as disappointed as you.

Not going to skirt around the bush here, the Wolves are playing terribly. They must be going for a new record for losses in a row.

Towns has been playing decent since his return from injury. He hasn't been back to superstar level yet but he is definitely playing good. Wiggins has also been decent.

My opinion on the Teague trade: it was for the best. From what I have heard the Wolves sold him off because he was impeding the development of Towns and Wiggins in Saunders' new system. So time will tell if anything will work with this lineup.

I really don't think there is much hope for this team unless they can bring in another star. Which brings me to my next point:

The Wolves are still trying to trade for D'Angelo Russell. He is a point guard the Warriors will not let go so easily.
The most recent news is that the recent 3-team proposal did not satisfy Golden State enough to let go of Russell. To be quite honest if that deal didn't work then I don't know what will. The Warriors wanted the Wolves' first round pick for this year to even consider the deal. So the Wolves did that, they even included trading Covington away to Portland to get another first round pick to flash in their faces. They also had cap pieces involved as well, but I am kind of shocked the Warriors didn't jump at this opportunity as I would assume at this point they are trying to tank and get a good first round pick for this year.

But if nothing else happens this team will be done for and I am willing to bet that this summer Towns will want out of Minnesota.

Hopefully things get better in Target Center. But until they do we are all in hell.
