Wolves Continue to Decline without key stars, as Early Season hopes fade...

Yeah I guess I should have seen this coming.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have not exactly shrugged the haters off this season. Despite starting off the season 2-0 with all players healthy, the Timberwolves have only played with all of their stars healthy for a total of 4 games this year. Star center Karl-Anthony Towns has played a total of 4 games this year as the first stint he was out with an injured wrist and the second stint is due to Covid protocols.

The amount of time I have seen Kat and Russell play together on the court this season is astounding given how much hype was given to this. I had lots of hope even have the 8 game losing streak because the season is young. But as we continue to be almost 2 months into the year you have to wonder where this team is going. This team did and still does have a lot of promise going forward. But this can only come true it seems when all the starters are healthy. Fortunately the Wolves did finally get their first win without Towns back on January 23rd when they beat Zion and the Pelicans at Target Center. But since then the Wolves have continued to look lackluster and continuously come up short in key moments. If this continues to be this bad in another month you have to start wondering was all the rearranging that GM Gersson Rosas did really worth it? If the Wolves continue the path they are on I have hard time believing this time can crack 15 wins on the year.

With all the talk of Glen Taylor selling the team to another majority owner, it makes you wonder what kind of direction this team will take in the future. I know Glen has been trying to sell to someone who will remain invested to keep this team in Minneapolis, but I don't even know how you can justify that with how badly this team is playing. I really hope this team doesn't leave town, but I can see the point of leaving.

If the end of this story ends up being the Wolves yet again could not create a good team around another once-in-a-generation player like Towns, maybe a change of scenery is a good idea. Again, hate to see another team skip town out of Minnesota, so I hope it doesn't happen.

Hopefully this team can find its way back, Towns should be back at some point this week. Because after the early part of this week, the Covid protocol tag becomes irrelevant.
