Bison Sports Update: April 3rd

NDSU Athletics had an interesting week over the weekend.

Baseball
NDSU Baseball had a good weekend down in Macomb, Illinois. While the Bison may not have won the series final, they were able to win the first two games. The first game they won 15-6, the second a comeback at 6-4. They lost the weekend finale, 4-6. 
This week the Bison will return briefly to non-conference play. On Tuesday, NDSU will travel back down to Minneapolis to play Minnesota at their home field. Then they will return to Fargo to open up Newman Outdoor Field for the first time in 2022 when they host St. Thomas for their third Summit League series of the year. This will be the first matchup against UST in Division I and a three game series.

North Dakota State Baseball is 5-1 in Summit League play, and 17-9 overall on the season.

Softball
NDSU Softball had yet another rough weekend of Summit League play. This week the Bison travelled to Omaha to take on the Mavericks for their series. NDSU couldn't score in the first game and lost 4-0. The second game they won 7-2. But they lost the series finale on Sunday in a close one, 1-0. 
This week the Bison will return home to open up Tharaldson Park for the first time in 2022. They will host the Kansas City Roos for the first time since KC re-entered the Summit League. They will begin with a Saturday doubleheader at 12 and 2, and then a Sunday finale at 11 AM. 

North Dakota State Softball is a 2-4 in Summit League play, and 20-17 overall on the season.

In other news, it was announced that Murray State will be joining the Missouri Valley Football Conference starting in 2023. NDSU will have a new semi-yearly opponent.
