Bison Baseball Finds First NCAA Regional Win, finishes season in Palo Alto

A weekend of mixed emotions for the Bison Baseball team has come to an end.

This team has been spectacular all year long. Not just as a mid-major squad, as a Division 1 baseball team. No one expected NDSU to go anywhere other then Bison fans. They showed the nation this year that NDSU can go anywhere. 
NDSU suffered a defeat in the regional opening game against the top regional seed Stanford (9th overall), 9-1. 
However, the Bison beat the 3rd regional seed Nevada in 2nd game, 6-1! This is the NDSU Baseball's first NCAA tournament win ever in the Division 1 era! Truly a historic day for NDSU Baseball. 
On the 3rd and final day of regional play for the Bison, NDSU fell to UC Irvine 18-3. Not a very good game for anyone on the Bison besides Hostetler. 
What a season for the Bison. They put up in the most wins in school history, at any level of play, and they put up the most road wins in baseball this year! They won the Summit League tournament for the first time ever! They are the club that houses this year's conference player of the year, with numerous first teamers and second teamers. Multiple batters well over .300 batting pct. This is now the undisputed best season in NDSU Baseball history, and these guys should be proud. 
North Dakota State Baseball finishes the season at 42-18 overall and 20-11 in Summit League play.

This is my final Bison report of the 2020-21 school year. Until next year Bison fans!
