Bison Basketball Teams cruise to 5-1 Conference Start

The Bison Basketball teams have cruised their way to a 5-1 conference start in a crucial season start!

Women's Basketball
The Bison Women have played very well this year and with a great non-conference schedule and an impressive start to the conference schedule the Bison are poised to make some noise this year in the conference!

The Bison started out the conference schedule with a down note in a not so great loss to Western Illinois. They followed it up with a convincing revenge win. Then the Bison returned home and swept Omaha very convincingly and handily. The women looked very on point in these games and I am excited for what is to come! Then these Bison marched into Grand Forks and put up some very entertaining basketball, playing UND very close just like they did in December. The Bison took to overtime both nights but won both! Very exciting basketball down the stretch!

Men's Basketball
The Bison Men started out the year sweeping Western Illinois very handily. Then they came home to see Omaha and nearly blew their 10 point lead in the first game. In the second the Bison sent Omaha packing in a blowout win.
Then the Bison went up to Grand Forks for matchups 302 and 303 versus the Northern neighbors at UND. They won the first matchup in a low scoring blowout. The second proved to be not a great game for the Bison. They led by as much as 15 at one point but they could hardly stop a late game rally by UND to force overtime. In overtime the Bison collapsed in the last minute with terrible turnovers. Hopefully they can correct this going forward.
Other then that they are playing very well!

Both teams currently are in the top 3 of the Summit League! The Women are currently on track to have their best finish since entering Division 1 basketball!!

Since both teams play the same schedule, the Bison basketball teams now head for a more relieving stretch. They will first come home to play Denver next Friday-Saturday. Then they head to Kansas City for a two game stretch. Then they finish up with 2 straight home series against Oral Roberts and South Dakota State and an away series at USD.

Go Bison!
