NDSU Athletics had a decent week.

Softball
NDSU Softball had a good week this week. They did have to slide their series at St. Thomas back a day, but only because of the colder weather in the Twin Cities on Saturday. On Sunday, the Bison had a great day with the bats and an even better one on the mound. NDSU did not allow a run from the Tommies in both games of the doubleheader, and scored a combined 14 runs in both victories, the second in 6 innings. Then, on Monday, the Bison played well again and took the series sweep over St. Thomas in a 6-2 victory.
This week, the Bison hope to again open their home field and host in-state rival North Dakota. Hopes should be higher this time since UND has moved their last two series down to Tharaldson Park since Grand Forks was still unfit to host a game. The series begins on Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 12 PM, and ends on Sunday with the finale at 11 AM.

North Dakota State Softball is 10-5 in Summit League play, and 26-16 overall on the season.

Baseball
NDSU Baseball had an ok week. While some may consider it to be a bad week, I think it was decent all things considered. They had to pull up all their plans this week, starting with cancelling their home opening against Mayville State. Then they had to move their series against Oral Roberts down to Council Bluffs, Iowa. They got blown out in the opener, 10-0 in 7 innings. In the second game, the Bison managed to beat the Golden Eagles and hand them their first conference loss this season, 4-2. Their last game was very close, and it went to 13 innings before NDSU gave up 4 runs and couldn't manage any of their own to lose the game.
This week, the Bison will head back to Minneapolis to play the Gophers again. That game is on Tuesday and starts at 6 PM. Then, they hope to open Newman Outdoor Field over the weekend with a Summit League series against Western Illinois. That series starts on Friday at 6:30 PM, and ends on Sunday with the finale at 1 PM.

North Dakota State Baseball is 7-5 in Summit League play, and 11-26 overall on the season.

Go Bison!!
