Bison Sports Update: April 28th

Yeah, neither team had a great week.

Softball
NDSU Softball came back home this week to host Kansas City for senior weekend. Unfortunately for the seniors, the team didn't play very well. The Bison fell completely flat in games 1 and 3, and had a rare offensive explosion in game 2 that ended in 5 innings. NDSU lost the series 1-2. 
This week, the Bison will head down to Vermillion to play South Dakota in the final series of the regular season starting on Saturday. As it stands right now, NDSU would be the 6th seed for the Summit League tournament in Brookings in two weeks.
North Dakota State Softball is 4-11 in Summit League play and 17-33 overall on the season.

Baseball
NDSU Baseball continued the homestand this week, as they hosted Mayville State on Tuesday for a midweek tilt. The Bison made quick work of the Comets, winning 13-3 in 7 innings. Then they moved on to the home series against Omaha. The series was shifted to a Saturday doubleheader and Sunday finale due to rain. The two teams split the doubleheader, before ending in a tie on Sunday due to excess rain in the 8th inning.
This week, the Bison will briefly hit the road to go play Iowa in Iowa City on Wednesday before returning home to host St. Thomas for a weekend series beginning on Friday.
North Dakota State Baseball is 9-8-1 in Summit League play and 13-24-1 overall on the season.
