Bison Sports Update: April 30th

Bison athletics had a great week!!

Softball
NDSU Softball had a good home opening week! The Bison hosted North Dakota at Tharaldson Park this week. The Bison swept the series opening doubleheader on Saturday, winning 8-5 and 4-2. Then on Sunday, UND claimed the finale with a 4-3 defeat of the Bison. 
This week, NDSU will play their last series of the year, and last home series when Omaha comes to town. The series begins on Friday with a doubleheader beginning at 12 PM CT. The season will conclude with the finale on Saturday at 11 AM.

North Dakota State Softball is 12-6 in Summit League play, and 28-17 overall on the season.

Baseball
If it was possible, NDSU baseball had their best week yet! The Bison began the week in Minneapolis when they played Minnesota. NDSU defeated the Gophers 10-3. Then over the weekend the Bison hosted Western Illinois to open up Newman Outdoor Field. NDSU began with a 10-0 victory on Friday in 8 innings. On Saturday, they followed it up with a 13-3 victory in 7 innings. On Sunday, they concluded the series with a 21-3 victory in 7 innings to complete the sweep of the Leathernecks. This game was only 4 runs shy of the program record for most runs scored in a game (25). Quite the home opener for the Bison!
This week, NDSU will head down to Lincoln to play Nebraska one last time on Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Then, they will hit the road for the final time in the regular season when they play in Greeley against Northern Colorado. That 3-game series begins on Friday at 3 PM CT, and concludes on Sunday with the finale at 1 PM CT.

North Dakota State Baseball is 10-5 in Summit League play, and 15-26 overall on the season.
