It was a great week for the Bison!

Football
NDSU Football took the short trip down to Vermillion this past Saturday to play 3rd seeded South Dakota in the FCS quarterfinals. The Bison came in knowing this is a grudge match, since they lost to USD back on Sept 30th at homecoming. NDSU took that and ran with it. The Bison would score 21 points in the 1st quarter alone, only allowing a USD field goal in the first 8 minutes. NDSU would cruise from there, finishing off with a 45-17 thrashing of the Coyotes in their own building in the playoffs, on national tv.
This week, the Bison will continue the road quest as they now head back out to Montana. This time, they will face 2nd seeded Montana in Missoula. Kickoff is at 3:30 PM CT on ESPN2 this coming Saturday.
North Dakota State Football is 5-3 in MVFC play and 11-3 overall on the season.
Something I want to touch on briefly here: it was announced yesterday that current Bison head coach Matt Entz will be resigning at the end of the current playoff run to join Lincoln Riley's USC staff as the linebackers coach. I will have a more thorough recap and thanks after the football season is over, but for now I just wanted to say that Entz is a great leader for this team and his absence will be very noticeable going forward. I am wishing Coach Entz and his family the best going forward!

Men's Basketball
NDSU Men's Basketball had a great week this week! The Bison began the homestand week with the second of an in season home and home against San Jose State. NDSU and SJSU really battled for most of the game, however the Bison led for most of the 1st half and a decent portion of the 2nd half. They went to overtime and NDSU rose up to take the win! Then, on Thursday the Bison hosted WCC Portland. Last year they beat Portland in the away portion of the series, and this year was no different. They did not require overtime this time and beat the Pilots by 11. On Sunday, NDSU welcomed in NCCAA Oak Hills Christian College. Unfortunately for the Wolfpack they were quite overmatched. NDSU would win 108-16, in a game that was 60-5 at halftime.
This week, the Bison take the week off with finals around the corner. They will be back in action on Sunday.
North Dakota State Men's Basketball is 7-4 overall on the season.

Women's Basketball
NDSU Women's Basketball didn't have such a great week. They went on the road for their Iowa trip. They started on Friday in Des Moines against Drake. While the Bison competed for most of the game, they would fall 66-77. On Sunday, NDSU matched up against Big 12 power Iowa State in Ames. The Bison never really had a chance in this one and lost 59-89.
NDSU women's basketball will also take this week off with finals coming up. They will be back in action a week from Wednesday.
North Dakota State Women's Basketball is 4-6 overall on the season.

Go Bison!!
