It was a great week to be a Bison!

Football
NDSU Football traveled out to Bozeman, Montana for their FCS playoffs second round matchup with 6th seeded Montana State. Both teams struggled for the first 10 mins of the game, until Montana State broke the ice with a 34 yard touchdown in at the end of the 1st quarter. Then NDSU answered in the 2nd quarter with a touchdown pass from Cam to Zach Mathis to tie the game at 7. The Bison took their first lead later in the 2nd quarter with a 44 yard breakaway touchdown from TaMerik Williams. The Bobcats would answer though with their touchdown before half to knot the game at 14. Coming out of halftime, the Bison got the ball first. However, they would only need one play before TaMerik Williams ran another touchdown in, this time from 75 yards out! Unfortunately Montana State answered two plays later with their own touchdown run to knot the game back at 21. Montana State would score on their next drive to take the lead, 28-21. NDSU was not done though and finally knotted the game back up with 2:33 remaining in the 4th quarter. Neither team would score again in regulation, so we went to overtime. NDSU had the ball first and scored on a touchdown run from QB Cam Miller. Montana State got their turn and also scored. However, on the extra point, backup Bison OL Hunter Poncious got his hand up and blocked the Bobcats' PAT and won the Bison the game!!
NDSU will move on to the quarterfinals where they will rematch with South Dakota, this edition in Vermillion. Kickoff is at 1:30 PM CT on Saturday and will be broadcast nationally on ABC.
North Dakota State Football is 5-3 in MVFC play, and 10-3 overall on the season.
