Bison Sports Update: February 11th

NDSU athletics had a fairly great week!

Men's Basketball
NDSU Men's Basketball hosted Kansas City and Omaha this week for a two game homestand. They were able to sneak by the Roos in overtime on Thursday, improving to a 4-1 record in games needing extra time. Then, on Saturday, the Bison beat Omaha 81-79.
This week, NDSU will hit the road again for games against Oral Roberts and Denver. Thursday's game in Tulsa will be at 7 PM CT and Saturday's game against the Pioneers will be at 3 PM CT. Both games will be broadcast on the Summit League Network. The Bison previously beat ORU at home, but lost to the Pioneers.
North Dakota State Men's Basketball is 5-5 in Summit League play and 12-13 on the season.

Women's Basketball
NDSU Women's Basketball continued their road trip this week and made stops in Kansas City and Omaha. The Bison beat the Roos on Thursday, 70-59, then beat the Mavericks on Saturday, 84-70. 
This week, the Bison return home to host Oral Roberts on Thursday at 7 PM CT, and Denver on Saturday at 1 PM CT. Both games will be broadcast on WDAY Xtra and the Summit League Network. The Bison previously lost to ORU in Tulsa, but beat Denver in Hamilton Gymnasium.
North Dakota State Women's Basketball is 8-2 in Summit League play and 14-9 on the season.

Softball
NDSU Softball had a moderate opening weekend! The Bison began their 2024 campaign with a weekend in Wilmington, North Carolina for the UNC Wilmington Tournament. On Friday they fell to Furman in a 1-4 decision, and lost to Queens on Saturday morning. Then they beat Northern Kentucky 5-2, DePaul 3-2, and UNC Wilmington 5-1 to go 3-2 on their opening weekend.
This week, the Bison will remain in the Tar Heel state and play East Carolina in Greenville on Tuesday at 3 PM CT, then Duke in Durham at 4 PM on Wednesday. Over the weekend they will play the Marucci Classic in Raleigh, NC on NC State's campus. They will play Elon on and NC State on Friday, Elon and Campbell on Saturday, and then UConn on Sunday.
North Dakota State Softball is 3-2 on the season.

Baseball
NDSU Baseball will begin their season this week! Lets go over their full schedule this season. In February, the Bison will begin with a California trip. They play UC Irvine in a three game series on opening weekend (2/16-2/18), then travel to Long Beach State for a one-off as well as going to Cal Poly for a one-off. They finish out the month in Stockton, playing Pacific University in a three game series.
In March, they will travel just up the coast to play Oregon State in 4-game series. Then they will head back across the country to the Rajun Cajun state of Louisiana to play Southeastern Louisiana in a three game series, and then LSU for a mid-week two-game series. After that, the Bison will begin Summit League play with a visit to Omaha in mid March for a three game series. While in Nebraska they will travel to Lincoln for a one-off game against the Cornhuskers. Then they will head over to Tulsa to play a three game conference series with reigning champ and 2023 College World Series participant Oral Roberts. NDSU finishes out the month in St. Paul to play St. Thomas in a three game conference series.
Starting out April, the Bison will head back to Omaha to play Creighton in a one-off game. Then, they will head back home to attempt to open up Newman Outdoor Field for a three game series against South Dakota State, who eliminated the Bison from the conference tournament last season. After that, comes the first of two matchups against the Minnesota Golden Gophers in Minneapolis. Neither matchup will be at US Bank Stadium this year, as the stadium is scheduled to undergo the replacement of the field turf that will take place during the early part of the baseball season. Next up is a three game conference series out in Greeley, Colorado against Northern Colorado. Then, the Bison will play their second matchup against Minnesota in Minneapolis. Soon after, NDSU will head home to play Oral Roberts in a three game series. NAIA Mayville State comes to town midweek after that for a one-off. The Bison will finish the month hosting Omaha.
Starting the month of May, the Bison will head down to play Iowa in a one-off game which will conclude their non-conference play for the regular season. Then, they will host St. Thomas at Newman Outdoor Field. After that they will take a road trip down to Brookings to play South Dakota State. The Bison finish the regular season with senior weekend against Northern Colorado. This year's Summit League Baseball Tournament will take place in Tulsa, Oklahoma hosted by Oral Roberts from May 22-26. 
This year, the Bison will play every league team in two series since Western Illinois departed for the Ohio Valley Conference in the offseason.
NDSU begins their 2024 season this Friday when they start their three game series against UC Irvine at 8 PM CT. All three games will be broadcast on ESPN+!
