This week had ups and downs again!

Men's Basketball
NDSU Men's Basketball had lots of ups and downs this week. They finished their road trip this week with a visit to South Dakota State and North Dakota. On Thursday, the Bison kept pace with the Jacks and beat them on a clutch shot under three seconds left in OT. This was NDSU's first win in Brookings since 2016! Then, on Saturday, the Bison returned to their old struggles against UND. NDSU led for the majority of the game and even had a double digit lead in the 2nd half, yet they fell in the final two minutes of the game for their first loss to UND since 2021. Not exactly a good feeling.
This week, the Bison will return home for games against Kansas City on Thursday at 7 PM CT, and then Omaha on Saturday at 1 PM CT. Both games will be broadcast on WDAY Xtra and the Summit League Network.
North Dakota State Men's Basketball is 3-5 in Summit League play and 10-13 overall on the season.

Women's Basketball
NDSU Women's Basketball also had an interesting week! On Thursday, they hosted South Dakota State, and kept up with the Jacks for the entire game. They fell short in the final minute of the game after they just couldn't get a shot to roll through the hoop late. Then, on Saturday, they hit the road to play North Dakota. NDSU handled the struggling Fighting Hawks and trounced them 101-85.
This week, the Bison continue their road trip, heading to Kansas City on Thursday at 7 PM CT - which will be broadcast on the Summit League Network. On Saturday, they will head to Omaha for a 2 PM CT tipoff.
North Dakota State Women's Basketball is 6-2 in Summit League play and 12-9 overall on the season.

Softball
The 2024 college softball season is upon us! The Bison softball team returns 11 players from last year's roster that fell short in the semifinal elimination game in the Summit League tournament. Lets go over their schedule briefly.
In February, the Bison will begin their season with the UNC Wilmington Tournament on the campus of UNC Wilmington. There they will play Furman, Queens (NY), Northern Kentucky, DePaul, and tournament host UNC Wilmington. After that they will play a couple other one-off games in North Carolina against East Carolina and Duke. This slides right into their next series, this time in Raleigh on the campus of NC State for the Wolfpack Classic. NDSU will play Elon, Campbell, UConn, and classic host NC State. Closing out February, the Bison will head to College Station, Texas for the Texas A&M Invitational. They will play Southeastern Louisiana, Kansas, and tourney host Texas A&M.
In March, the Bison will travel to Nashville, Tennessee to play the Purple/Gold Challenge hosted by Lipscomb. They will play Georgetown, Murray State, and tourney host Lipscomb. Then they will head out west to play in the Silicon Valley Classic, which will feature Loyola Marymount and tournament co-hosts Santa Clara and San Jose State. NDSU will then play a one-off against Pacific. After that its the last classic/tournament for the season with a visit to Moraga, California to play Marist and tourney host Saint Mary's. Once that is concluded, the Bison will begin Summit League play with a visit to Omaha, Nebraska for a three game series against the Mavericks. Finishing out March, the Bison hope to open up Tharaldson Park for a three game series against St. Thomas.
The month of April will open with the final non-conference games of the season in a visit to Las Vegas to play UNLV in a three-game series. After that, the Bison will come home to host defending champion South Dakota State in a three-game series. Then, NDSU heads north to play UND for a three-game series. After that, the Bison will come home for senior weekend against Kansas City. In May, the Bison finish out the regular season with a three-game series against South Dakota in Vermillion. The Summit League tournament will take place in Brookings, South Dakota on the campus of South Dakota State from May 8-11.
NDSU Softball begins their season this week with the UNC Wilmington Tournament, and will play Furman on Friday, February 9th at 1:30 PM CT.

Next week, the baseball season preview is next!
