Bison Sports Update: June 2

The Bison had a decent week this week!

Baseball
NDSU Baseball was down in Fayetteville, Arkansas to play in the NCAA Regional for the 2025 NCAA tournament this week. On Friday, the Bison played regional host Arkansas, who was the 3rd overall seed in the tournament. NDSU gave the Razorbacks a fair shake. In fact, NDSU had two leads in the early going. However, in the middle innings the Bison let in 4 runs that they just couldn't get back and fell to Arkansas 6-2. In the second game, the Bison relied on their pitching and found themselves their second-ever NCAA tournament victory over Kansas! On Sunday, the Bison matched up against Creighton - whom they beat in 1 out of 2 tries this season. NDSU found themselves down in the middle innings, letting the Bluejays score 10 runs. But the Bison fought their way back and were able to tie the game at 10 in the 8th inning. But Creighton was able to get a runner to score in the 9th inning to hand a heartbreaking end to the Bison season.
These Bison fought hard this year! No matter what season you make the NCAA tournament as a team from Fargo is a great one! Well played this season guys!

North Dakota State Baseball finishes the season with a 21-34 overall record and a 13-15 record in the Summit League.

Thank you all for reading these updates every week, even though sometimes they can be a little more depressing then we would like them to be. This was another great year! It saw the Bison win more championships and reach new heights! The Bison football team won yet another FCS championship (their 10th and 18th overall), the Bison soccer team win the Summit League regular season championship, the Bison women's basketball team reach new heights yet again in the WNIT Elite 8, and of course the Bison baseball team reach their 3rd NCAA Tournament which featured their second ever win! Of course we cannot forget about the amazing track and field team that secured yet another women's indoor and outdoor title in the Summit! I look forward to next season and sharing it all with you folks!
See you all back here in August, and until then:

Go Bison!!!
