Bison Sports Update: March 13th

This weekend was better for Bison Nation.

Softball
NDSU Softball ventured over to Eugene, Oregon for the Oregon/Oregon State Invite this weekend. The Bison struggled quite a bit against the Pac-12 powerhouses. NDSU lost 5 of the 6 games played and the only win came against Portland State, a 9-0 victory that was called in 5 innings. 
The slate doesn't get any easier this week. On Tuesday, the Bison will be travelling to Charlottesville, Virginia to play the Virginia Cavaliers. Then over the weekend, NDSU will be travelling out to the College Park, Maryland for the Capital City Classic which will feature games against Big Ten power Maryland (host), Binghamton, Army, and Monmouth. It will also feature a bracket game after the round robin finishes.

NDSU Softball is  13-12 on the season.

Baseball
NDSU Baseball went out to Orlando, Florida for the Russmatt Central Florida Invitational and played Maine in a three game series. The Bison won the series 2 games to 1, but it wasn't without its theatrics. The Saturday game was rained out, which made Sunday a double header. On Friday, NDSU won 9-4. On Sunday the Bison lost the first one but won the second, 4-2 needing a save from Jake Drew to secure the win.
This week the Bison will visit Florida Atlantic and Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday and Wednesday. This weekend NDSU will be staying in Florida to play in the Snowbird Classic against Fairfield for a 3 game series.

NDSU Baseball is 8-7 on the season.
