Bison Sports Update: March 19th

This kind of was a weird week for Bison athletics.

Women's Basketball
NDSU women's basketball awaited their postseason fate this past week. Over the weekend, the WNIT released their 2024 48-team field. The Bison received a first round bye and will play the result of Montana and Boise State. After that is finished, NDSU will find out if they will host their second round game. The second round will take place from the Saturday to Tuesday. 
North Dakota State Women's Basketball is 13-3 in Summit League play and 21-11 overall on the season.

Softball
NDSU Softball had a rough week last week. The Bison finished their trip to California with four games at the Saint Mary's Tournament. NDSU went 1-3, with their lone win a 2-0 nailbiter against Marist on Saturday. They lost 2 out of 3 in regulation, and the 3rd ended in a mercy rule 2-12 game in the 5th inning.
This week, the Bison will begin Summit League play. They will head over to Omaha to play the Mavericks in a typical three game series that will feature a double-header on Saturday with the lone finale on Sunday.
North Dakota State Softball is 12-20 overall on the season.

Baseball
NDSU Baseball had a great week! The Bison began Summit League play over the weekend in Omaha. NDSU won the series opener and finale, dropping the 2nd game which took place on the same day as the finale due to incoming weather. This is the first season of any kind that NDSU has won this season!
This week, the Bison will head over to Lincoln to play Nebraska on Wednesday for a one-off non-conference game. On Friday, NDSU will travel to Tulsa to play Oral Roberts in another Summit League 3-game series.
North Dakota State Baseball is 2-1 in Summit League play and 5-14 overall on the season.
