Bison athletics had a decent week!

Softball
NDSU Softball hosted the final regular season series of the year of this weekend. They hosted Omaha on Friday and Saturday. They lost both games of the doubleheader, the first one in an embarrassing late inning 6 run burst. The second one was a 10 inning nailbiter. On Sunday, Senior Day, the Bison beat Omaha 3-0.
Because NDSU lost the doubleheader, they removed themselves from contention for the 2 seed in the tournament. Instead with the win on Senior Day, they clinch the three seed for the second straight year in a row.
This week is the Summit League Tournament in Brookings, South Dakota. The Bison hold the three seed and will play 6th seeded Kansas City on Wednesday at 4:30 PM. If the Bison beat the Roos, they would advance to play 2nd seeded Omaha on Thursday at 1:30 PM. If NDSU loses the first game they are eliminated from the tournament. If they advance to play Omaha, the winner faces the winner between top seeded South Dakota State and South Dakota/North Dakota on Friday. The loser would face the other team in the other matchup on later in the day on Thursday. The title game is set for Saturday at 1 PM and 3:30 PM.

North Dakota State Softball is 13-8 in Summit League play and 29-19 overall on the season.

Baseball
NDSU Baseball had a great first week of May! They started their weeklong road trip in Lincoln, Nebraska where they bested the Cornhuskers in a close battle. Then over the weekend the Bison were in Greeley, Colorado for a three game series against Northern Colorado. They swept the Bears, starting with a 10-inning win on Friday, 7-5. Then with two 7-inning wins; 18-3 on Saturday, and 10-0 on Sunday. The Bison have now won eight straight games dating back to the April 25th win over Minnesota.
The Bison will now return home for the remainder of the season. They begin with a 3 game series against Omaha from Friday through Sunday this coming weekend. The action begins on Friday at 6:30 PM.

North Dakota State Baseball is 13-5 in Summit League play and 19-26 overall on the season.

Go Bison!!
