Bison athletics had a good week!

Football
NDSU Football welcomed in 11th ranked Southern Illinois this Saturday to the Fargodome for the last regular season home game. The Bison and Salukis both scored on their opening possessions. NDSU would take a 13-7 lead in the 2nd quarter before a muffed punt allowed SIU to kick a field goal before halftime to trim to 13-10. In the 3rd quarter the Bison broke through to the endzone on their first drive of the second half. Then the defense had their best half of the season as they wouldn't allow another point from SIU and had 4 consecutive drives where they didn't allow a first down. This allowed the Bison offense to score two touchdowns to put the game away in the 4th quarter. It was a really good day for the Bison who won their first ranked game of the season!
Next Saturday, NDSU will hit the road for the final game of the regular season when they visit Northern Iowa. Kickoff is set for 4 PM CT. The day after that will be the FCS Playoff selection show, where we will find out NDSU's fate.
North Dakota State Football is 4-3 in MVFC play and 7-3 overall on the season.

Volleyball
NDSU Volleyball had a rough week this week. The Bison came in just a game out of first place in the conference. NDSU would fall to Kansas City at home and South Dakota on the road, without winning a set after winning 12 straight sets at one point a couple weeks ago. This lowers the Bison all the way down to 5th in the conference standings.
This week the Bison will finish out the regular season with a road game in Grand Forks against arch-rival UND on Tuesday at 7 PM CT. The Bison no longer have any chance to increase their seeding in the Summit League tournament and will finish the season 5th in the league.
North Dakota State Volleyball is 9-6 in Summit League play and 17-9 overall on the season.

Men's Basketball
NDSU Men's Basketball had a great start to their season this week! They opened on Monday at Western Michigan and after struggling early, they brought the game to overtime and beat the Broncos there to start 1-0 for the first time (against a D1 team) since 2016! Then, on Wednesday, the Bison beat NAIA Mount Marty to advance to 2-0. On Saturday, they lost to 8th ranked Creighton in a game the Bison were in during the first half. They just did not have the offensive firepower to compete with the Bluejays.
This week, the Bison will continue the early road trip with a visit to Missoula to play in the Basketball Travelers Mike Montgomery Classic. They will play UC Davis on Tuesday at 3 PM CT and then play the classic host Montana on Thursday at 9 PM CT. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
North Dakota State Men's Basketball is 2-1 overall on the season.

Women's Basketball
NDSU Women's Basketball had a decent start to their season this week. They opened the year with a 75-52 loss to 22nd ranked Creighton down at the Sanford Pentagon. Then, on Thursday, they beat NAIA Jamestown 112-59 with the 6th highest scoring performance in program history.
This week, the Bison will travel down to Minneapolis to play the Gophers in the first of two games at the Barn as part of the deal signed last season. Tipoff is on Wednesday at 7 PM CT and will not be broadcast on any major streaming service or channel.
North Dakota State Women's Basketball is 1-1 overall on the season.

Go Bison!!
