NDSU Athletics had an up and down week this week.

Football
NDSU Football traveled for their final away game of the regular season, to Carbondale Illinois on Saturday. They faced a hungry SIU Salukis team that was feisty all game long. The Bison started out hot and scored on their first possession. However, it would be downhill from there, the defense allowed the Salukis offense to work themselves into the other side of the field and kicked a field goal to make it a 7-3 game at halftime. In the second half, SIU would catch the Bison by surprise and go out to a 10-7 lead. Eventually though, NDSU's offense found their way and scored to take the lead again at 21-10. Despite the Bison's best efforts to prevent, SIU did score in the closing seconds of the game but was unable to recover the onside kick. NDSU would go on to win, 21-18.
This week, the Bison return home to face off against their in state rivals, UND. Currently the Fighting Hawks rank 19th in the country to NDSU's 4th. That game kicks off at 2:30 PM CT in the Fargodome next Saturday.

North Dakota State Football is 8-2 on the season and 6-1 in MVFC play.

Volleyball
NDSU Volleyball returned home this past week to play their final home games of the year against Omaha and Denver. Both were close matches. They found a way to win in 5 sets on Thursday against Omaha. But they fell on Saturday to Denver in 5 sets.
This week, the Bison will hit the road again to play league-leading South Dakota on Thursday at 7 PM CT. Then they will close out the season against South Dakota State on Saturday at 1 PM CT. NDSU currently sits at 3rd in the Summit League rankings and has clinched their spot in the 2022 Summit League tournament! They can finish no lower then 4th place.

North Dakota State Volleyball is 19-9 on the season and 12-4 in Summit League play.

Men's Basketball
This week, NDSU MBB opened the season against 10th ranked Arkansas and 5th ranked Kansas, as well as Pacific to end the week. On opening night against the young, but talented, Razorbacks the Bison lost by 18 after a run blew the game open early in the 2nd half. On Thursday the Bison lost to the Jayhawks having never really been in the game. Kansas was by far the more talented and disciplined team, and it showed. Then on Sunday, the Bison played their home-opener against Pacific. It was a very close game up to the very end, but NDSU came up short losing by 5.
This week, they will hit the road on Thursday when they will play Indiana State at 6 PM CT on ESPN+. Then on Sunday they will come home again to play Crown College out of small town Minnesota.

North Dakota State Men's Basketball is 0-3 on the season.

Women's Basketball
For the Bison women, they opened their season this week on the road in Montana. They were able to beat the Lady Griz in a thriller, winning by 2 in the 4th quarter. NDSU was supposed to play their home opener on Thursday but it was cancelled due to inclement weather and bad travel conditions.
This week, the Bison will finally open on their home floor when they host Valley City State on Monday at 7 PM in the SHAC. Then on Thursday, they will host Big Ten-Minnesota at 7 PM on ABC ND and ESPN+.

North Dakota State Women's Basketball is 1-0 on the season.
