Another great week to be a Bison!!

Football
NDSU Football came home to host former rival, Northern Iowa this Saturday. The rivalry between the two teams isn't what it used to be back towards the beginning of NDSU's tenure as a MVFC member - but the two teams still pack a punch! The Bison got off to a fast start in this one - taking a 28-3 (yikes) lead at the halftime break. NDSU would hit again right out of halftime with a touchdown to bring the deficit to 35-3. But, UNI would fight their way to try to get back in the game. They would score two touchdowns in the 3rd quarter to bring it to a 35-19 game. NDSU would wake back up though and score one more touchdown and keep UNI from scoring any more points to claim a 42-19 victory.
This week, the Bison will get their long needed bye week. They will return to host Missouri State in two weeks at the Fargodome.
North Dakota State Football is 6-0 MVFC play and 9-1 overall on the season.

Soccer
NDSU Soccer had the weekend off as the top seed in the Summit League tournament. They watched as South Dakota State defeated South Dakota in double overtime and Oral Roberts defeating Omaha 2-0. The Bison will play the Golden Eagles for the semifinal game.
This week, NDSU will host the remaining three games of the Summit League tournament. 2nd seeded Denver and 3rd seeded SDSU will play first at noon on Thursday, and then top seeded NDSU and 5th seeded ORU will follow at 3:30 PM CT. The championship game between the two victorious teams will take place on Sunday at 1 PM CT.
North Dakota State Women's Soccer is 6-1-1 in Summit League play and 10-5-3 overall on the season.

Volleyball
NDSU Volleyball had a shaky week again. On Thursday, the Bison defeated ORU in a 5 set thriller, and then lost to Denver on Saturday in a 3 set sweep.
This week, they will come home on Thursday to host South Dakota at 5:30 PM CT. On Saturday, they will hit the road to play South Dakota State down in Brookings at 1 PM CT.
North Dakota State Volleyball is 6-6 in Summit League play and 10-11 overall on the season.

Men's Basketball
NDSU men's basketball is about to start another season on Monday! Lets unpack their schedule for the year.
The Bison will return very few players from last season's squad that failed to advance past the quarterfinals of the Summit League tournament.
The team will begin their season with a couple games in the first week of November. They will host NAIA Jamestown on Monday, and then Illinois State on Thursday - which will feature former Bison Boden Skunberg's return to the SHAC. The following week, the Bison will hit the road out to the West Coast to play CSU Bakersfield and Santa Clara on Monday and Wednesday. On the 18th, NDSU will head closer to home and visit Southern Illinois before coming home a few days later to host Minnesota-Crookston. The week preceding Thanksgiving, the Bison will head down to Homewood, Alabama on the campus of the Samford Bulldogs. They will play Samford on Tuesday, West Georgia on Wednesday, and Utah Valley on Thursday.
Starting the month of December, the Bison will visit Weber State on the 4th and host Northern Colorado on the 7th for the second year of the Big Sky-Summit challenge. Then, on the 10th - the Bison will visit Butler for their first national TV game of the year with it being broadcast on FS1. NDSU will finish out 2024 at home, hosting Division III Wisconsin-Stout on the 13th, Western Michigan on the 15th, and CSU Bakersfield on the 23rd. The rest of the calendar is the Summit League conference schedule, ending with the 2025 Summit League tournament on March 5-9, down in Sioux Falls.
Should be a fun year!! Lots of unknowns which will be quite exciting to watch play out!
The Bison begin with Jamestown at home tomorrow at 7 PM CT! All home games will be available on WDAY Xtra and the Summit League network this season. All conference away games will also be on the Summit League network again this year.

Women's Basketball
NDSU Women's Basketball has quite a bit of expectations this season, coming off a program defining year last March! The Bison return many of the same players from that squad that made their first Summit League title game and the WNIT Super 16.
NDSU will begin their season at home for three games, including a rare late morning weekday tip to open the calendar. They will host Drake on Monday at 11 AM CT, which was inspired by their visit to Des Moines last season. Then, on Sunday, the Bison will host Eastern Illinois and then Jamestown on the 15th. After that, the Bison will hit the road to Alaska to play in the ASRC/ConocoPhillips Great Alaska Shootout. They will play Vermont on the 22nd, and then either Troy or Alaska Anchorage on the 23rd. Those games will be streamed on YouTube. The Bison finish November with a visit out East to Charleston Southern on the 29th.
In December, NDSU will finish out the East Coast trip with a game at Charleston (of the CAA) on the 1st. After that they will return home to host Montana on the 4th and visit Eastern Washington on the 7th for the Big Sky-Summit challenge. On the 10th, the Bison will visit Tulane and then they will head out to the Pacific Northwest for the Husky Classic, hosted by the University of Washington. They will play the Huskies on the 18th, and then Boise State on the 19th. The Bison finish out 2024 hosting NAIA Dakota Wesleyan. The Summit League conference schedule will follow, concluding with the Summit League tournament from March 5-9 down in Sioux Falls.
The Bison begin tomorrow morning with a brunch match against Drake! All home games will be available on WDAY Xtra and the Summit League network this season. All conference away games will also be on the Summit League network again this year.

Go Bison!!!
