NDSU Athletics had a great week this week!

Football
NDSU Football welcomed in exiting MVFC member, Western Illinois, for the final time on Saturday. The Bison, to put it mildly, kicked WIU square in the tush on the way out in a 52-7 thrashing. NDSU roared out to a 14-0 lead in the 1st quarter with a couple long drives. In the 2nd quarter, NDSU really blew the game open with 3 touchdowns and a field goal. Two of those touchdowns were long runs on short drives. The third was Cole Payton's 2nd passing touchdown of the season, this time to Joe Stoffel. In the 2nd half, The Bison continued to pour it in on against the lowly Leathernecks. With the backups in, the Bison scored two more rushing touchdowns before WIU scored their lone touchdown in the latter part of the 4th quarter.
Its a good bounce back game for a Bison team that got shell shocked a week prior.
This week, the Bison will usher in MVFC newcomer - Murray State. Kickoff is on Saturday at 2:30 PM CT.

North Dakota State Football is 4-2 overall on the season and 2-2 in MVFC play.

Soccer
NDSU Soccer had a great final game of the season hosting league-leading Denver. The Bison managed to score in the 67th minute that would wind up being the game winning goal! NDSU wins their first and only conference game of the year on the last game of the year. The Bison were eliminated from postseason contention after their loss in South Dakota the previous game.
Maybe not the season the team hoped for but not bad nevertheless.

North Dakota State Soccer finishes the season with a 5-6-6 overall record and a 1-3-4 record in Summit League play. Good season ladies!

Volleyball
NDSU Volleyball had an outstanding week! Lots of questions were raised after the last couple of weeks for the Bison. They got a lot quieter this week. They hosted three games this week, the first one being the Gold-out against in-state rival UND. The Bison thrashed the Fighting Hawks 3-0, in a grudge match for most. Then, on Thursday, NDSU brought the same fight to Oral Roberts in a pink-out, sweeping them 3-0. Finally, on Saturday, the Bison swept Denver for a third straight game without allowing a lost set.
This week, NDSU will hit the road to play Kansas City on Thursday at 7 PM CT, and Omaha on Saturday at 12 PM CT.

North Dakota State Volleyball is 14-7 on the season and 6-4 in Summit League play.

Be on the lookout for my men's and women's basketball previews in the next couple of weeks, as both teams begin non-conference play on Monday, November 6th.

Go Bison!!
