Another great week to be a Bison!

Football
NDSU Football took their first ever trip to Murray, Kentucky this past Saturday for a conference battle with the Murray State Racers. The Bison would largely have their way with the Racers for the afternoon. This game was already over before halftime, as NDSU put up 42 points in the first half and only allowed a field goal. The defense for NDSU, which is fairly banged up now after some injuries these last few weeks, had no issue holding back Murray State from the redzone until garbage time in the 4th quarter. Redshirt freshman QB Nathan Hayes also got some valuable field minutes starting late in the 2nd quarter, and he was able to throw two touchdowns. Not a bad day for the Bison, as they would beat the Racers 59-6.
This week, the Bison will head back home to host rival Northern Iowa. That game will start at 2:30 PM CT.
North Dakota State Football is 5-0 in MVFC play and 8-1 on the season.

Soccer
NDSU Soccer hosted their final game of the regular season on Sunday when St. Thomas came to town. There was a lot riding on this game for the Bison, as they needed to win to control their tournament destiny. NDSU would emerge victorious in a tight 2-1 decision! The Bison clinched their 3rd ever Summit League regular season title and will be the top seed in the Summit League tournament!
Now we head towards the postseason. The Summit League women's soccer tournament's format has been modified the past few seasons, and this year it changes again. Since the tournament now involves the top 6 of the league's 9 teams, there are three rounds. The quarterfinals will involve the 3-6 seeded teams and those games will be hosted at the higher seed's soccer field. The semifinals and championship are to be played at the top seed's field, which will be NDSU's Dacotah Field this year. The Bison get a bye to that semifinal round and will host the winner of the 4/5 Omaha-Oral Roberts game that will be played this Saturday. The semifinals will be played on November 7th, the championship is set for the 10th.
North Dakota State Women's Soccer is 6-1-1 in Summit League play and 10-5-3 overall on the season.

Volleyball
NDSU Volleyball had a busy week, playing 3 games in 7 days. The Bison were able to win the first two games, a 4 set victory in Grand Forks and a 5 set victory hosting the Tommies. On Saturday, the Bison would fall to Omaha in a 4 set decision.
This week, will hit the road for a two game trip. On Halloween, NDSU will visit Oral Roberts, and then on Saturday they will play Denver.
North Dakota State Volleyball is 5-5 in Summit League play and 9-10 overall on the season.

Stay tuned next week for my men's and women's basketball previews!!
Go Bison!!
