This was a good week for Bison athletics, and it was also homecoming week! I hope all alumni who attended any campus activities enjoyed their time on one of the best campuses in the nation!

Football
NDSU Football came home this week to host Youngstown State in the homecoming matchup for the year. YSU came into the game with arguably one of the best running backs in the game right now, who is currently 9th in career rushing yards. You could not tell though right away, as NDSU raced out to a 21-0 lead by the middle of the 2nd quarter. Not long after though, YSU was able to kick a field goal to cut the deficit to 21-3. This is the score that would lead into halftime after the Bison intercepted the Penguins' quarterback to bring the game to halftime.
In the second half, YSU scored first with another field goal. NDSU answered later in the 3rd quarter with a field goal of their own. The score landed at 24-6. In the 4th quarter, the Penguins managed a touchdown of their own and converted on the 2-point attempt to make it a two score game at 24-14. The Bison soon answered with a short field goal to extend their lead to 27-14. YSU was given the chance to potentially score again, but was sacked with 30 seconds to go and no timeouts remaining.
Next week, the Bison hit the road again. This time they will travel to Terre Haute, Indiana to take on the Sycamores of Indiana State. Kickoff is at 12 PM CT on Saturday, October 8th.

North Dakota State Football is 2-0 in MVFC play and 3-1 on the season.

Women's Soccer
NDSU Soccer started out the week with a struggle. They came home for their first home conference games of the year. The Bison hosted playoff-ineligible St. Thomas on Friday and lost 2-3 in front of a mixed crowd. Then on Sunday, they concluded their week with a 4-0 dominant win over bottom feeder Western Illinois.
This week, NDSU hits the road again to visit Kansas City on Friday at 7 PM CT, and then Oral Roberts on Sunday at 1 PM CT.

North Dakota State Women's Soccer is 1-3 in Summit League play and 5-6-3 on the season.

Volleyball
NDSU Volleyball had a dominant week at home! This week the Bison returned home for 3 games over homecoming week. It started with a green out on Tuesday over rival South Dakota. The Bison were able to win this one in 5 sets that turned into a thriller in front of a near sellout crowd! This powered them forward to crush Oral Roberts on Thursday in 3 sets. NDSU then finished off the week with a 3 set win over Kansas City on Homecoming Saturday. The Bison finish the week undefeated in conference play, the only one remaining!
This week, the Bison have most of the week off until the weekend when they will host in-state rival North Dakota on Saturday, October 8th at 7 PM CT.

North Dakota State Volleyball is 5-0 in Summit League play and 12-5 on the season.

Go Bison!!!
