First of all, I would like to take an opportunity to recognize that it has been 21 years since the terrible events of September 11th, 2001. We remember all of those that lost their lives, or lost loved ones that fateful day in America. We vow that any events similar to these will never happen again, and to protect America and her allies. We also thank those that risked their lives on that day to save those in the buildings before they collapsed, as well as afterwards to save those caught in the dust cloud. Never forget, never again.

Alright, what a week it has been for Bison Athletics!!! Lets get started.

Football
NDSU Football hosted Big South-North Carolina A&T this weekend. They started the game with the ball, and drove down and scored as well. The score was a pass from Cam Miller to Zach Mathis for their first connection of the season. NCAT proceeded to drive down as well and kicked a 38 yard field goal. The next drive for NDSU went a little differently, it was highlighted by Redshirt Freshman QB Cole Payton coming in and scoring on a 6 yard rush for the touchdown! He then rushed in the successful 2 point conversion attempt. This gave the Bison an unusual score but large 15-3 lead. Neither team scored the rest of the 1st quarter.
In the 2nd quarter, NCAT started with the ball but was strip sack fumbled and NDSU picked it up. Not too long after, the Bison scored with a pass from Cam Miller to Hunter Luepke to make it a 22-3 game. On NCAT's next drive, James Kaczor intercepted a pass and returned it 24 yards before the offense took over. Given they were on the goal line, NDSU scored the very next play on a 1 yard rush from Hunter Luepke. NDSU now had a commanding 29-3 lead. NCAT got nothing on their next drive. NDSU drove down again and scored on a 10 yard rush from TK Marshall to increase the margin to a 36-3 lead. They would take that lead into halftime after NCAT couldn't manage anything to end the half.
Starting out in the 3rd quarter, neither team could manage to gain any ground. On NCAT's 2nd drive of the half, NDSU's Dawson Weber intercepted the ball and returned it 79 yards for a touchdown, which breaks NDSU's school record for longest interception returned for a touchdown! This increased the Bison's lead to 43-3. Neither team scored the rest of the 3rd quarter or in the 4th quarter.

Next week, NDSU will travel to Tucson, Arizona to take on the FBS Arizona Wildcats on national FS1! This will also be the team's final non-conference game of the season. The game kicks off at 10 PM central time.

North Dakota State Football is 2-0 on the season.

Women's Soccer
NDSU Soccer had a very good week this week! The Bison opened Dacotah Field for the first time this season where they hosted Green Bay and Drake. They won both games, both by a score of 1-0.
Now the Bison hit the road for their final non-conference games of the season. They start in Moscow, Idaho where they will play the Vandals at the Kibbie Dome on Friday, September 16 at 7 PM. Then on Sunday, September 18 they will play Montana in Missoula at 12 PM.

North Dakota State Women's Soccer is 4-2-2 on the season.

Volleyball
NDSU Volleyball hosted the NDSU tournament this weekend. Now, before the weekend even started there were schedule changes. Northern Arizona had to pull out of the tournament, so a replacement game was scheduled for the Bison against Montana State. Chicago State and Central Michigan did not get a 3rd game. NDSU started their tournament by playing Chicago State and won in 5 sets. They then played Central Michigan later that night lost in 5 sets. On Saturday, they concluded the tournament with a win over Montana State in 3 sets.
The Bison will now travel for their final non-conference games of the season. They will play in the Stacheville Tournament in Clarksville, Tennessee where they will play Austin Peay (host) at 12 PM on Friday, UT Martin at 4 PM on Friday, and East Tennessee State on Saturday at 11 AM. All three games will be broadcast on ESPN+.

North Dakota State Volleyball is 6-3 on the season.

Go Bison!!!
