NDSU's Basketball teams wrapped up their regular seasons this past weekend down in Vermillion, South Dakota against South Dakota.
They will both begin their tournament runs next weekend in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in the Summit League tournament!

Weekend Recaps
Men's Basketball
The Bison men had an up and down weekend but not in that order. They dropped the first game of the weekend against the Coyotes 71-80. But they bounced back the next day to dominate South Dakota for a monster 2nd half by 89-77. This breakout game included a team high in points on the season (89) and a career high for Junior Guard Sam Griesel (24 points)!
My biggest point of this weekend was the obstacle the Bison overcame! Both games were high scoring, which means South Dakota definitely lived up to the hype as they are quite the high flying offense. However after watching two games they do not seem as efficient as the South Dakota St and Oral Roberts of the world.

Women's Basketball
The Bison women had considerably more trouble this weekend then the men. The first matchup was arguably one of the best games this Bison team played all year! They were able to keep up with one of the best teams in the nation and only lost on a very flimsy last second foul to give the Coyotes the go ahead free throws with 4 milliseconds remaining. The Coyotes only made one of the 2 free throws.
The second day was far worse. It seemed that the Bison used all their offensive magic the previous three games and lost steam in the second half. They could never quite bring the game back to single digits and they lost by 20.

Summit League Tournament
Men's Basketball
The Bison men will roll into Sioux Falls with some momentum on Sunday. They were able to manage series splits against every other top 4 seed this year. The power in the top 4 seeds in this tournament will be tough to predict as all four teams could win the conference title. As far as the Bison's path goes, it begins this Sunday, March 7th at 8:45 PM CT against #6 Kansas City on ESPN+ and MidcoSN. The Bison split their series in Kansas City this year, both being relatively close games. All quarterfinals and semifinals in this year's tournament will be broadcast on ESPN+ and MidcoSN.
If the Bison win on Sunday, they would play on Monday, March 8th against the winner of #2 South Dakota/#7 Western Illinois at 8:45 PM CT.
The championship game is scheduled for Tuesday, March 9th at 8 PM CT and broadcast on ESPN2.
All games will be played at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, SD and no fans will be allowed to attend the tournament.

Women's Basketball
The Bison women will enter the tournament on a 4-game losing streak. This looks bad at first glance except that the Bison are on a breakout year and just play 4 straight games against 2 of the best teams in the conference, mid-majors, and the nation. They will begin their tournament run on Sunday, March 7th against #6 Denver at 2:45 PM. All quarterfinals and semifinals will be broadcast on ESPN+ and MidcoSN. This is a rematch of last year's semifinals with a flipped seeding. Last year the 6th seeded Bison upset the 3rd seeded Denver Pioneers. This year the Bison split their season series at home against Denver.
If the Bison win on Sunday, they will advance to the semifinals and play the result of #2 South Dakota/#7 Oral Roberts at 2:45 PM.
The championship is scheduled for Tuesday, March 9th at 1 PM CT and broadcast on ESPNU.
All games will be played at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, SD and no fans will be allowed inside the venue for the length of the tournament.

Here we go with March!
Go Bison!
