Its another great week to be a Bison!
Softball NDSU Softball hosted North Dakota this weekend in a three game series. The Bison lost a close game to open on Saturday, and won in the second game of the doubleheader. On Sunday, they lost another close game that went to 8 innings. This week, the Bison will hit the road again. On Wednesday they will head to Madison to play Wisconsin in a one day duel that was rescheduled from a couple weeks ago. Then, over the weekend, they will head to Brookings to play South Dakota State in another Summit League three game series, and it starts on Friday. North Dakota State Softball is 3-6 in Summit League play and 16-22 overall on the season. Baseball NDSU Baseball had quite the week! First they wrapped up their Omaha road trip with a win over Creighton, who received votes in last week's media Top 25 poll! Then, over the weekend, they came home to host St. Thomas in a three game series. The Tommies exerted their strength to win the opener on Friday, but NDSU got to work the next two days and claimed the series win with a 6-1 win in Sunday's finale. This week, the Bison will first head down to Minneapolis to play Minnesota on Tuesday in a one off game. Then, they will come back to Fargo to host Northern Colorado in a 3 game series starting on Thursday and finishing up on Saturday. North Dakota State Baseball is 9-5 in Summit League play and 12-19 overall on the season. Go Bison!

This wasn't the greatest week for the Bison.
Softball NDSU Softball opened up Tharaldson Park this weekend for the first home series of the season against Omaha. The reigning Summit champs had their way with the Bison all weekend, NDSU could only manage one run in the series. The Mavericks scored 21 runs including the finale that was ended in 6 innings. This week, the Bison hope to turn things around as they finish out the homestand hosting North Dakota for another Summit League series starting on Saturday. North Dakota State Softball is 2-4 in Summit League play and 15-20 overall on the season. Baseball NDSU Baseball hit the road for the start of a Nebraska road trip this weekend when they visited Omaha for a three game series. The Bison were able to claim the series opener, but that is where they success ended against the Mavs. Omaha won the next two games to claim the series by a margin of 16-2, with the finale ending in 7 innings. This week, the Bison round out the Nebraska swing with a midweek visit to Creighton on Tuesday. Then they will head back to Fargo to host reigning regular season Summit champ St. Thomas in a 3 game series starting on Friday. North Dakota State Baseball is 7-4 in Summit League play and 9-18 overall on the season. Go Bison!! Well, eh it was an ok week.
Women's Basketball NDSU Women's Basketball had an interesting week. On Thursday, they hosted Washington State in their second Super 16 appearance in as many seasons. The Bison were able to rally in the final 3 minutes to defeat the Cougars and reach their first WNIT Great 8. On Monday, the Bison hosted Troy in the Great 8. It was a great game and the Bison were able to rally yet again in the final 2 minutes of the game to force overtime. Unfortunately, they ran out of gas in the extra frame, and fell to the Trojans, 88-97 to end their postseason run. Even though they ended the Summit League tournament on a dud, the Bison were still able to make this season a memorable one, another that will be remembered in Fargo for quite a while. North Dakota State Women's Basketball finishes the season with a 11-5 Summit League record and a 21-12 overall record. Softball NDSU Softball took this past week off for some much needed rest. This week, the Bison are back to work, and will open up Tharaldson Park for the first time this year! They will host Omaha this weekend for a traditional three game series starting with a doubleheader on Saturday. Previously, there was a duel scheduled at Wisconsin this week, but that has been pushed out to mid-April due to the inclement weather forecasted across the Midwest this week. North Dakota State Softball is 2-1 in Summit League play and 15-17 overall on the season. Baseball NDSU Baseball opened up Newman Outdoor Field this week against rival South Dakota State. Mother nature had something to say about it this time though, and forced the team to move the series around. They were able to play a Friday doubleheader, but postponed the third game to a later date. Fortunately for NDSU, they swept the doubleheader for their third league series win of the season. This week, they will head down to Omaha for another Summit League three game series starting on Friday. North Dakota State Baseball is 6-2 in Summit League play and 8-16 overall on the season. Go Bison!! It was another great week to be a Bison!!
Women's Basketball NDSU Women's Basketball started out the week hearing that they received a bye to the WNIT second round. Following the end of the WNIT first round, the tournament gave a home game to the Bison as they would host New Mexico State. Then, today on Monday, the Bison played said second round game at the SHAC. NDSU and the Aggies were quite close for the entire game, but the Bison pulled through in the final 2 minutes to secure another WNIT second round win. This is the second season in a row that the Bison made the WNIT super 16. This week, the Bison will play at least a game in the Super 16 round of the WNIT. They currently are awaiting the result of Utah Valley at Washington State that is playing as I am writing this. After they know who they will play, they will then find out if they will host another WNIT game that would take place between March 26th and 28th. If NDSU would win that game, they would play in the Great 8 which would take place between March 29th and 31st. North Dakota State Women's Basketball is 11-5 in Summit League play and 20-11 overall on the season. Softball NDSU Softball had a fabulous start to Summit League play this week as they visited the Roos of Kansas City. After the series was moved up a day, the Bison opened with a 6 inning victory, followed by a close loss. NDSU wrapped up the weekend with a series win on Saturday. This week, the Bison take the week off. They will be back in action on April Fools Day against Wisconsin. North Dakota State Softball is 2-1 in Summit League play and 15-17 overall on the season. Baseball NDSU Baseball also had a good week. They opened the week with a visit to Stillwater, Oklahoma for a dual against Oklahoma State. They lost the first game, 9-1, before the second one was cancelled. So they then embarked for Greeley, Colorado to play Northern Colorado to resume Summit League play. NDSU won the opener on Friday, lost on Saturday, before winning a drama-filled weekend finale on Sunday. This week, the Bison will finally come home to open up Newman Outdoor Field against rival South Dakota State. If you plan to go to the games though, be sure to dress warm as the weather is not terribly favorable for the late March opener. North Dakota State Baseball is 4-2 in Summit League play and 6-16 overall on the season. Go Bison!! It was a good week for the Bison!!
Women's Basketball NDSU Women's Basketball received an invitation to the 2025 Women's NIT on Sunday! The matchups are still TBD, and will be announced on Monday, March 17. North Dakota State Women's Basketball is 11-5 in Summit League play and 19-11 overall on the season. Softball NDSU Softball went over to Louisiana to play Southeast Louisiana on Tuesday. The Bison lost, 1-3. Then, they finished the week at the Rebel Invitational in Oxford, Mississippi. NDSU lost to Samford both times, allowing double digit runs both games and one of them finished in 6 innings. They then got their only win of the week over Iowa State on Friday in a 9 inning thriller. Then, they finished up with a 5 inning loss to 22nd ranked Ole Miss (host). The final game of the weekend against Ole Miss was cancelled due to weather. This week, the Bison will begin Summit League play with a trip to Kansas City. That series will begin on Saturday with a doubleheader and wrap up on Sunday. North Dakota State Softball is 13-16 overall on the season. Baseball NDSU Baseball went over to Tulsa this weekend to open Summit League play at reigning champion Oral Roberts for a three game series. The Bison had a good series, winning the first two to claim the series victory. They fell on Sunday, 6-9 in the finale. This week, the Bison will head over to Stillwater, Oklahoma for a mid-week dual against Oklahoma State on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then, over the weekend, they will continue Summit League play with a visit to Northern Colorado for a three game series. North Dakota State Baseball is 2-1 in Summit League play and 4-14 overall on the season. Go Bison!! It was a rough week, lets be honest.
Men's Basketball NDSU Men's Basketball went down to Sioux Falls this weekend for the 2025 Summit League tournament. They entered as the 4 seed and matched up against 5 seed South Dakota. Unfortunately for the Bison, they had to play without their top two scorers in seniors Jacksen Moni and Jacari White as well as senior Brennan Watkins. However, this didn't seem to faze the team on Friday as the Bison led for the entire first half and almost all the second half. They were never able, though, to put the Coyotes away and it would bite them late. In the final two minutes, the Coyotes were able to complete the pressure on the Bison and caught NDSU on a couple mistakes to give them the win. With a 20+ win season for the Bison, they would most likely qualify for some postseason tournament. But given NDSU's history with Richman at the helm, they will most likely not play in any of those tournaments. What a season it was, and the youth coming up next year should give fans lots of reasons to hope that the Bison would replicate the regular season success again next season. North Dakota State Men's Basketball finishes the season with a 21-11 overall record and a 10-6 record in the Summit League. Women's Basketball NDSU Women's Basketball was also in Sioux Falls for the 2025 Summit League tournament. They entered as the 3 seed and matched up against 6 seed Kansas City. NDSU just never seemed to show up in their quarterfinal match on Friday, as the Bison were down by almost 20 in the first 5 minutes of the game. NDSU would never really climb back into it and were eliminated with the 10 point loss. Since they didn't win 20+ games and didn't finish second in the regular season, I doubt the Bison will get an invite to the WNIT this season, which means their season is over. Still a great season for the women's team in a year that they lost a lot of offensive production from last season! North Dakota State Women's Basketball finishes the season with a 19-11 overall record and an 11-5 record in the Summit League. Softball NDSU Softball on the other hand, had a great weekend out in Mississippi! The Bison traveled down to Hattiesburg, Mississippi this weekend for the Golden Eagle Classic. NDSU would fall in the opening game against host Southern Miss, defeated 2-10 in 5 innings. But they would get red hot from there, as they would defeat Maryland Eastern Shore three games in a row, each ending early and then wrapped the weekend with a win over Southern Miss. This week, the Bison will head over to Louisiana to play Southeastern Louisiana in a rare one-off game on Tuesday. Then, they will head back to Mississippi for the Rebel Invitational where they will face a gauntlet of Samford, Ole Miss and Iowa State from Thursday through Saturday. North Dakota State Softball is 12-12 overall on the season. Baseball NDSU Baseball had an ok weekend down in Louisiana, where they played Tulane in a 3 game series. They fell short on Friday to a comeback bid and fell badly on Saturday. But on Sunday, they rallied and defeated Tulane for their second win on the season. This week, the Bison will start Summit League play with a visit to defending champion Oral Roberts this weekend. North Dakota State Baseball is 2-13 overall on the season. Go Bison!! This was a good week for the Bison!
Men's Basketball NDSU Men's Basketball wrapped up the regular season this week with a home matchup against South Dakota. The Bison and Coyotes engaged in a close battle that was up for grabs until the end. NDSU emerged victorious to send the seniors out the right way. This clinched their spot as the 4 seed in the Summit League tournament. This week, the Bison will head down to Sioux Falls at the Denny Sanford Premier Center for the 2025 Summit League tournament. NDSU will play their quarterfinal game on Friday at 6 PM CT, and it will be a rematch against South Dakota - who the Bison defeated twice in the regular season. If they win on Friday, they would play the winner of top-seed Omaha and ORU/Kansas City on Saturday at 7 PM CT. The Summit League championship game is scheduled for Sunday at 8 PM CT. This year, the semifinals and championship games will all be broadcast on CBS Sports Network. Midco and the Summit League Network will stream the First Round and Quarterfinal games. North Dakota State Men's Basketball is 21-10 overall on the season and 10-6 in Summit League play. Women's Basketball NDSU Women's Basketball also wrapped up the regular season this week. They hosted Kansas City on Thursday and Omaha on Saturday to complete the league schedule. On Thursday, the Bison handled a Kansas City and then on Saturday the Bison defeated Omaha to complete season sweeps of both teams. With the win over the Roos, the Bison clinched their seed in the Summit League tournament at the number 3 spot. This week, the Bison head back down to Sioux Falls for the 2025 Summit League tournament. NDSU will play in the quarterfinal matchup on Friday against Kansas City. The game is estimated to start at 2:30 PM CT, as it will start approximately 25 minutes after the previous game is finished. If the Bison were to win their first game, they would move on to the semifinals around the same time on Saturday against the winner of No. 2 Oral Roberts and No. 7 South Dakota. The 2025 Summit League championship game is scheduled for Sunday at 3 PM CT. This year, only the championship game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network. Midco and the Summit League Network will stream the First Round, Quarterfinal, and Semifinal games. North Dakota State Women's Basketball is 19-10 overall on the season, and 11-5 in Summit League play. Softball NDSU Softball went down to Minneapolis this week to play in the Gopher Indoor Classic at US Bank Stadium. Unfortunately, they struggled quite a bit in the tournament. The Bison started on Friday with losses to Miami-OH and Minnesota, the first was wrapped up in 6 innings. On Saturday, they defeated Wagner before beating Wagner for their first and only win of the weekend. On Sunday, NDSU wrapped up with a 6 inning loss to host Minnesota. This week, the Bison will head down to Mississippi for the Golden Eagle Classic where they will face Maryland Eastern Shore and Southern Miss from Friday to Sunday. North Dakota State Softball is 8-11 overall on the season. Baseball NDSU Baseball went down to Tuscaloosa this weekend to face off against 20th ranked Alabama. The Bison weren't able to win any of the games against the Crimson Tide, and only managed to get as close as a 7-9 defeat on Saturday. Not entirely unexpected of NDSU, with Alabama playing so well this year so far. This week, the Bison will head over to Louisiana for a week. They will go visit LSU on Tuesday and Wednesday for a mid-week dual against the Tigers. Then, over the weekend, they will play a series at Tulane. North Dakota State Baseball is 1-9 overall on the season. Go Bison!! This is the kind of week that tests your patience.
Men's Basketball NDSU Men's Basketball opened up their road trip with a visit to arch-rival South Dakota State on Wednesday. The Bison played quite well and took down the Jacks in their recently remodeled home building for the first time, and handed them their first home loss, 77-68. On Saturday, NDSU visited Grand Forks to play UND. The Bison kept the lead for the majority of the game, but missed some crucial shots in the end to fall to the Fighting Hawks, 77-79. This week, the Bison will wrap up the season with a home game against South Dakota on Wednesday at 7 PM CT. If NDSU wins on Wednesday, they will be the 4 seed in Sioux Falls, otherwise they will have to wait until USD's final game to find out their fate in the conference tournament. North Dakota State Men's Basketball is 9-6 in Summit League play and 20-10 overall on the season. Women's Basketball NDSU Women's Basketball finished up their three game road trip this week, first with a visit to Denver on Thursday. The injury-hindered Bison defeated the Pioneers in a close matchup, 64-59. On Saturday, the Bison headed down to Oral Roberts to play for the 2nd seed in the tournament. North Dakota State Women's Basketball is 9-5 in Summit League play and 17-10 overall on the season. Softball NDSU Softball went down to Commerce, Texas for the Lion Invitational this weekend. They first faced off against the host, East Texas A&M. The Bison would split the dual, with the first game going into extra innings resulting in a defeat, 3-4. The second game would be over quickly, as NDSU's bats came alive en route to an 11-0 5 inning win. Then, the Bison would play Prairie View A&M, and would sweep them in the dual, with 5-3 and 11-3 wins. This week, the Bison will head down to Minneapolis for the Gopher Indoor Classic hosted by the Minnesota Golden Gophers at US Bank Stadium. There they will play Miami-OH, Minnesota, and Wagner from February 28 to March 2. North Dakota State Softball is 7-7 overall on the season. Baseball NDSU Baseball finished their Texas road trip this week. In the middle of the week, the Bison played Lamar, which they lost both games. Over the weekend, they were scheduled to play a 3-game series against UTRGV, but due to rain only 2 games were played. NDSU lost the first one in 7 innings, 3-10. But they would get their first win on the season in the last game, with a 7-5 result. This week, the Bison will head over to Tuscaloosa to play Alabama in a 3-game weekend series from February 28 to March 2. North Dakota State Baseball is 1-6 overall on the season. Go Bison!! The Bison had a decent week.

This week, the Bison will head out to Commerce, Texas for the Lion Invitational. They will face Prairie View A&M and East Texas A&M (host) from Friday to Sunday. North Dakota State Softball is 4-6 overall on the season. Baseball NDSU Baseball opened their 2025 season this weekend with a visit to Dallas, Texas to face 21st ranked Dallas Baptist. The Bison would not win any of the three games and gave up 11 runs in two of them. This week, the Bison will continue their Texas trip - first with a stop in Beaumont to play Lamar on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then, over the weekend, they will head over to play UTRGV. North Dakota State Baseball is 0-3 overall on the season. Go Bison! NDSU athletics had kind of a melancholy week.
Men's Basketball NDSU Men's Basketball wrapped up their 3 game road trip this week, first with a visit to Kansas City on Thursday night. The Bison would bounce back from a two game losing streak with a 78-72 win over the Roos. On Saturday, NDSU would enter the typically-quiet Baxter Arena to a very different sight. While facing a much better Omaha team, they were greeted by 2,000+ fans in a game that they just couldn't quite get over the hump.
